  1. KL have released Edwards from their line-up, so that he can ride for Mildenhall. Apparently BSPL had insisted he turn out for the Stars because Prem has priority - but common sense has prevailed
  2. Doesn’t matter who didn’t do it - KL were the hosts and cheerfully advertised the meeting on Twitter and FaceBook with an hour to go, but no mention even though they must have known. Locals who were tempted by Lambert’s presence might well have called off if they had known. Irrespective of who the riders are, clubs involved should make every effort to inform paying customers of changes as soon as they are known.
  3. KL posted cheerfully on their Facebook and Twitter with an hour to go, yet the news about Lambert had been circulating at least an hour before that …
  4. No, the wording is “proven long term injury”. Nothing to do with how long the replacement is used - examples being Tungate at Ipswich and Sedgmen at Sheffield, who were both replacements for long term injured riders, even though both replaced riders (Riss and Allen) returned for their Champ clubs.
  5. Issue 19 of the Prem Green Sheets said "01/10 and Final".
  6. It appeared just after 6. Sometimes the updater doesn't set it up until they're back from work ...
  7. Except that it seems wherever there is a multi use stadium where speedway is a tennant, it is way down the priority. It's not that long ago teams were staging racing most weeks now it's barely half of their available "fixed" race nights. It really is only the promoters who can be blamed (slagged off in modern parlance) for not providing an entertainment package that makes their tenancy more attractive.
  8. The October Green Sheets said: "01/10 and Final", which implies that the remaining fixtures will not be counted ...
  9. Still just making excuses for incompetence. If Sheffield can't stage 16 home fixtures in seven months, that's a major problem.
  10. IRR is used if a 1-5 rider is lost early in the meeting, and the Regulations state that IRR can't be used if a rider has had three programmed rides, so BV's only option for Wright was a reserve change - one was already riding, and the other was injured. It was an unfortunate situation, but a rare one.
  11. How will anyone know it has given speedway a shot in the arm? How many new fans will be attracted? How many of the one-off fans who attended the Finals will be there next March/April?
  12. I'm guessing that's one of the reasons they've made the change.
  13. Good job for Sheffield that they were allowed to make a third separate change
  14. Absolutely shocking that they have to rely on the play-offs to stage a profitable meeting.
  15. I have only just twigged that Issue 19 of the Green Sheets says: "01/10 and Final" (my emphasis). So, even if they are staged, the BSPA will not count the last two fixtures.
  16. The Liga 1 rates this season were £54k signing-on and £540 per point! Can't imagine what the Ekstraliga rates are ... A Polish guy on Speedway Friends Facebook group reckons this season that Zmarzlik has earned £800k, and Woffinden over £500k. Zmarzlik's deal for 2023 will be £1M.
  17. And, I'm guessing the Witches wanted Riss back in the line-up, in case they need him for 2023, and someone might argue that if he had been dropped from the 2022 line-up he couldn't return? PS: It also shows that the "long term" injury rule is definitely as ambiguous as it is written.
  18. Further ambiguity then, because Allen rode again for Scunthorpe - he was out for 6-8 weeks - standard absence for scaphoid, although depends on complexity of injury. ”Long term” needs to be specified …
  19. I try really hard the follow the Regulations, and regarding replacements they are particularly ambiguous and open to (mis)interpretation. I can see how BV were able to sign Lambert, but I still can't work out how Sheffield made three separate changes, even though the regs say maximum of two. PS: I don't think the regulations and squabbles are a significant part of speedway not being taken seriously - it's simply a very long way down the pecking order as a minority sport in a world where there are so very many different types of entertainment.
