You only have to look at Google Maps and the adjacent development to the showground to see the intensity of the housing. The Grandstand, pits, track and backstraight areas are roughly 150m x 200m. Overlay that on any part of the housing, and you'll see 40-50 homes.

Lots of factors, e.g. home track, position in team. Also, the conversion factor is arbitrary - I'm sure if a statistician looked at all the factors, they could come up with an equation.

The other week Tatum didn't know the protected rides rule, and this week he said Blödorn was the Rising Star. Considering that a lot of riders are here, there and everywhere during the season, King might well have said to Plymouth that he would let them know as soon as he had worked out the logistics, particularly machinery - and even if Poole are happy, maybe he wanted to check with Ipswich. I still don't understand how you can whinge about King accepting a booking for a team that are challenging for the play-offs, and then cheerfully turn round and say that Poole don't mind. It can't have bothered King, because if it did he would have rejected the booking. Or maybe it was "agent" King - after all, his five rides produced 8 points, and the heats he featured in resulted in an aggregate of 19-11 to Oxford

Clearly then, as suggested, King wasn't bothered - he just saw it as an earning opportunity.

Maybe you can find out if King checked with the Poole management before accepting the booking?

I'm glad that your medical expert knowledge meant that 48 hours could do the trick. Note: it was stated earlier (by Wolves) that Masters' foot was still so badly swollen that it couldn't be X-Rayed. Masters clearly took a risk (at least to himself) to decide to race - whether out of loyalty, or being pressured (because of the lack of guest option), or sheer stupidity is up to anyone who is interested to make up their mind. To be perfectly honest - how many people actually care?! A very small percentage of the very small number who follow the sport.

Birmingham said they had 350 for their match against Edinburgh, including season ticket holders. Not sure how many season ticket holders BV have got, but a 1500 attendance will not be £30K cashflow, especially if some of those are concessions (of varying types). When you read how much money is being thrown into the Birmingham pit, you wonder if £30k would be enough to cover costs at Belle Vue, but tonight's income could be a fair bit lower than that. I wonder how much they get from the TV deal to sweeten the likely reduced attendance next week.
