Lambert’s average wasn’t reassessed because the current regulations say that averages are valid up to three seasons.

The change in the calculation of the Green Sheets from 20 matches, down to 10 is the problem. A sample of 20 matches reflects consistency, whereas the smaller sample is more likely to be skewed by a couple of very good form or very poor form scores. In 2022, Lawson averaged 6.75 from 19 Prem matches. His Green Sheet from the last 10 is 7.91 ... his average from the first 9 was 5.56 ...

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
Roger Jacobs replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
After Ipswich signed Gollob on a bargain assessed average, I think they introduced a 9 for GP riders. With points limits reducing, they must have brought it down too - as they did with new non-Brits on a 5, when it used to be 6. -

Leicester's matches are now at King's Lynn! -
He's a very astute businessman, trying to stretch his empire nationally.

Unattached 3 pointer We are working hard to find a guest from the clubs available to us and will inform you of the team once we sort it."

Mildenhall v Leicester Double Header. Sunday 23rd October.
Roger Jacobs replied to Bunce's topic in National League Speedway
Jason Pipe on Mildenhall Speedway Club Facebook has confirmed: "If you have a guest for the home team in a double header and he does both meetings, it counts as one meeting as a guest. BUT, an unattached 3.00 rider filling in they count as 2 meetings rode in, because a 3.00 point unattached rider is NOT a guest rider." -

Mildenhall v Leicester Double Header. Sunday 23rd October.
Roger Jacobs replied to Bunce's topic in National League Speedway
That was 2012-14 when a couple bought an old house in the middle of nowhere, then complained about the noise from the speedway (and motocross), and even noise from KC-135 Stratotankers taking off and landing at RAF Mildenhall! -
Mildenhall v Leicester Double Header. Sunday 23rd October.
Roger Jacobs replied to Bunce's topic in National League Speedway
Double Headers at White City finished around midnight. I was there for one of them, when the Witches defeated the Rebels in the first meeting, and then the Rebels beat King's Lynn in the second - therefore it was a splendid night, and the late finish was irrelevant This was 40ish years ago! -
The BSPA has often come up with "great new ideas", yet never seems to have done any wargaming to work out if there are any problems, or potential problems. I know from quite a few years ago that they would agree something at the conference in principle, then one or two promoters would be assigned to work out the detail and deliver, with no further review by the others ... that's a recipe for failure.

League Cup Final Sheffield v Kings Lynn
Roger Jacobs replied to RS50's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Said that a few years ago (2011?), when Howarth guested for the Witches at Sheffield - very impressed with his approach. He signed for Edinburgh soon after … -
Wonder how much it might be? There’s never talk of prize money for winning the title, or whatever other competition is flavour of the season.

KL have released Edwards from their line-up, so that he can ride for Mildenhall. Apparently BSPL had insisted he turn out for the Stars because Prem has priority - but common sense has prevailed

King's Lynn v Belle Vue (SGBPB)
Roger Jacobs replied to Mimmo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Doesn’t matter who didn’t do it - KL were the hosts and cheerfully advertised the meeting on Twitter and FaceBook with an hour to go, but no mention even though they must have known. Locals who were tempted by Lambert’s presence might well have called off if they had known. Irrespective of who the riders are, clubs involved should make every effort to inform paying customers of changes as soon as they are known. -
King's Lynn v Belle Vue (SGBPB)
Roger Jacobs replied to Mimmo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
KL posted cheerfully on their Facebook and Twitter with an hour to go, yet the news about Lambert had been circulating at least an hour before that … -
King's Lynn v Belle Vue (SGBPB)
Roger Jacobs replied to Mimmo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No, the wording is “proven long term injury”. Nothing to do with how long the replacement is used - examples being Tungate at Ipswich and Sedgmen at Sheffield, who were both replacements for long term injured riders, even though both replaced riders (Riss and Allen) returned for their Champ clubs. -

Issue 19 of the Prem Green Sheets said "01/10 and Final". -

Shame on Sheffield
Roger Jacobs replied to dontforgetthefueltapsbruv's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Except that it seems wherever there is a multi use stadium where speedway is a tennant, it is way down the priority. It's not that long ago teams were staging racing most weeks now it's barely half of their available "fixed" race nights. It really is only the promoters who can be blamed (slagged off in modern parlance) for not providing an entertainment package that makes their tenancy more attractive. -
The October Green Sheets said: "01/10 and Final", which implies that the remaining fixtures will not be counted ...
-
Still just making excuses for incompetence. If Sheffield can't stage 16 home fixtures in seven months, that's a major problem.

Sheffield vs. Belle Vue Grand Final 2nd Leg 13/10/22
Roger Jacobs replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
IRR is used if a 1-5 rider is lost early in the meeting, and the Regulations state that IRR can't be used if a rider has had three programmed rides, so BV's only option for Wright was a reserve change - one was already riding, and the other was injured. It was an unfortunate situation, but a rare one.
