  1. The Guest rides under the average of the rider he is replacing.
  2. Heat 5 = Lambert's winning time. Quickest of the night, and one of the fastest EVER at Foxhall. New nickname: Toothless Lambert
  3. He doesn't have a much higher average. According to the BSPL, Lambert's Established MA is 7.81, and he hasn't ridden enough matches to gain a new average. The convoluted nonsense of that conclusion is, of course, hilarious.
  4. Hume is 27 and has never learned. He managed four fairly consistent laps for that vital 5-1 over the hopeless Holder (who blocked Edwards early on), but failed again in his final ride. He's an accident waiting to happen, and hopefully won't carry anyone with him if he has a big one. Lambert showed skill to avoid running into Doyle. He was never alongside, not even by a wheel, so Doyle didn't fence him. Doyle rode a wide line, and left no room - that's NOT fencing someone. Agree with the rest of your comments.
  5. It will need to be mandatory for every track to have thunderstorms the night before, with showers in the morning. Also, they will need stock cars, hot rods and bangers to drive across the track every so often. The track was just as lumpy for the Cup Final, but amazingly was wetter and grippier. I was expecting the Tigers to adapt better because it was drier, but they failed miserably. I don't think you'll find any Witches fans who attended tonight who thought it was a poor spectacle (and it was a good-sized attendance considering the concerns of the clash with ITFC). I found it to be a very satisfying night. A 20 point lead with no passing would have been better - as it was there was passing, incidents and the frustration of Hume continuing his search to be able to complete four consistent laps. The non-bladed icing on the cake was watching Holder - he was embarrassingly hilarious.
  6. Whoops! I give up ... Even so, his handful of matches this season could/should still have counted towards a Rolling Average, based on his BSPL trademarked Established MA.
  7. My bad (again!). Of course he rode some matches for KL! He rode one away match for BV (the one I was thinking of). So, he has ridden 7 league matches, but only 2 at home - thus needing 1 more to attain an Established MA ... although the BSPL reckons his 2019 Final Green Sheet is an Established MA.* * Thinking about that, if Lambert's 2019 average is an Established MA, why haven't they just added his handful of recent league scores to those figures to continue his Rolling Average? If they had done that, there could be no comeback. Because they haven't, the very valid argument remains that Lambert is on an Assessed MA, as per the Green Sheets.
  8. The way he has ridden for them so far, Lawson could make four or five good starts at Foxhall and score really well. Weather report: a shower passed across Kesgrave at about 15:50 (over by 16:00) and could hear thunder to the north (maybe a couple of miles or so, e.g. heading Woodbridge-ish). The belt of storms stretching NE to SW as they move across the country might hit Foxhall around 18:00 or 19:00 - if they haven't petered-out.
  9. The same reason that KOC-Up matches aren't included, i.e. because that would create an imbalance in the number of meetings per team. It doesn't quite work out like that, simply because of injuries, line-up changes, etc., but that's the principle behind it.
  10. Officially, Lambert has ridden only one league match - others are as a guest, and/or in play-offs, which don't count.
  11. It still irks me that people say Lambert was “only signed for the play-offs”. BV used Lambert because Fricke was injured, no other reason.
  12. Here's the reply I received from the BSPA Office: "You have quoted the rule yourself and it does not mention 'assessed', it says 'have an established MA' and Robert Lambert DOES have an established average, from 2019, he just hasn't done enough meetings to update that for this season. Without appearing to be too long winded, that rule is with regards riders who have never had an established MA, hence it does not mention 'assessed'. I believe other riders in a similar position have guested this season, but nobody has queried that? I don't want to drone on but what if a rider is riding on his converted CL MA and has that * by his name, have they ever not been able to guest? Next season that box will be changed as it is obviously misleading when it suits!" Reading that last sentence, I wasn't sure wether to laugh or have a fit of hysterics
  13. Has anyone with a * next to their name had a guest booking? I haven't checked. As mentioned, I was informed by the BSPL Office that Lambert can ride because his 2019 average is considered to be an Established MA.
  14. Whoops! Thank you. My bad - I should have checked (Aries will be chuckling ). That definitely makes it seem more complex than it needs to be - but that's British speedway ...
  15. Apologies if you are self-righteously offended. I can't see the point of putting "I think it's x or y" when there are anoraks (who have bookmarks or saved copies of documents) who will confirm if you actually ask a question. In an age where some people believe whatever's posted without bothering to seek verification, it's better to ask than just waffle. The problem we do have, of course, if that even though there are Regulations, the BSPL has twice in the last couple of weeks decided to interpret the wording in a specific way, and also use an average that's not in the Green Sheets.
  16. Lambert for Woffinden at #1, otherwise he couldn't ride in the Final.
  17. Why think, when it's so easy to check? It's only ever been the 8 day rule, which has been tweaked in recent seasons.
  18. "b) a rider may ride as a guest (in an official meeting) at a track only once in an 8day period (within that league) unless he is replacing the home teams #1 or is an NDL rider guesting for the home team" Although the BSPL has decided that "NDL rider" means NDL only (that's why Joe Thompson was prevented from riding two weeks in a row at Foxhall). This rule is close to becoming obsolete - these days, very few teams ride home matches consistently every week.
  19. And he had 10 rides in the Golden Helmet the day before! Incredible determination.
  20. To be fair, Wolves have happily kept the different shaped bends, with the "Karlsson corridor". We will never know if a slightly smaller, rounder, wider track would have made any difference.
  21. They couldn't possibly stage manage Wrocław v Toruń, the teams were too imbalanced. If British speedway was stage managed, Belle Vue would always win, so that the racing would look amazing. Your attitude is pathetic, and you have no value to add here.
  22. So ... your only contribution tonight is completely derogatory, and then you throw your curlers out of the nail bar because people throw it back at you? PS: If you didn't know, "Stupid Woman" is a famous phrase from 'Allo 'Allo, which was splendidly non-PC. 'tler!
