  1. Heard that one of the Sheffield management team described him as, "Not a nice person."
  2. Thought it was his shoulder that was injured, he had one or two decent meetings for Sheffield early in the season and looked like he was going to be a good signing, then he started going backwards during races after making good/reasonable gates, most likely down to the injury he was carrying. Can't say anything about his form for Rye House as I didn't see any of the meetings. If he were to return to Sheffield and show his early season form again, don't think I'd have any problem with him being in our 1 to 7.
  3. Wonder who the 'new' number 1 was who let them down at the last minute and signed elsewhere "for a better deal." Looks like that might be the reason they re-signed Lasse when plans changed!
  4. Prefer Bjerre to Lawson, because if he doesn't get 'the gate' invariably he doesn't come first, like someone else put on here Lawson never seems to pass any decent riders at Sheffield, or reserve riders for that matter!
  5. Done some serious boot/bum licking if he is!
  6. Think you'll find that's the average order of the list! Plus start adding up the averages cos if that's the top three that's what it's going to be going to be further down, or similar (average wise).
  7. Not if he continues riding like he did for the last half of this season. Think the Glasgow fans were hoping he would be elsewhere next year from the posts they've been putting on for the last two or three months!
  8. Well if Bates wants to go somewhere to get more experience, Ipswich could be the place for him to go! Then our team could be: Grajzonek 9.47 Graversen 5.27 Heeps 6.93 Kurtz 5.23 Howarth 8.62 Greaves 4.51 Wood 2.31 Total 42.34 Could be a useful team! Would love to keep Josh G as he was outstanding at times this year and is good around most tracks in the Championship.
  9. After what he did this year can't see him coming back for a long time, unless he does some grovelling. Also Kerr and Sarge bound for Glasgow from what they're saying! Also thought Josh Bates was wanting to come back after this years success.
  10. Don't riders have a choice in who they ride for? The team that are prepared to pay the best money might seem more attractive to them. Not saying that would be a factor in Heeps case, just a general observation as 'assets' don't seem that loyal to their clubs and vice - versa.
  11. On page one of this thread there was a post stating that Sheffield would have to move up or change their race night as the Premiership were going to be riding Mondays and Thursdays and that this had been agreed by the BSPA at a pre- AGM meeting. There have been many other posts regarding this since. Well here we are just before the AGM and Damien Bates is on record in todays Speedway Star saying nothing has been decided re race nights and nothing will be until it's thrashed out at the said AGM this weekend. He talks about Mondays and Thursdays and Mondays and Wednesdays and that with 3 potential Championship Clubs (Sheffield, Ipswich and Redcar) being Thursday tracks the second option might be more suited. Chris Louis also alludes to this. So Thursday people all is not yet lost as here are two promotors who seem to have their heads screwed on, are batting for you. I'd also include the guy at Redcar (Keays) as he seems a sensible type also!
  12. For me the worst part about last night (and the times over the years similar incidents have happened) is the fact that no one really lets the crowd know what's actually happening. I felt a little sorry for Shaun Leigh (presenter) last night, as he can only convey what he is being told. Wouldn't it have been better if someone who's actually in charge and knows what's really happening, come out, explained what was happening and apologise to the paying public for something that is definitely nothing they are responsible for. Or is that too much to ask for?
  13. Would like to know where it was caught up in traffic, where did it come from? They must have known where it actually was at 7.30 (in these days of mobile phones), so knowing it wasn't going to get there for an hour or so, why not have the firework display! Everyone would have had some entertainment, then they could have had a few ad-lib interviews with riders, managers etc. A really bad show and it being the last of the season that unfortunately, will be the memory of speedway that I and a lot of others will carry through the winter. The best season we've had for years and it all finishes on such a low.
  14. It's my understanding (and I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong), that due to Owlerton Stadium being used as a dog track on most days (including Thursday afternoons) Thursday and Monday evenings are the only times that it is available for speedway. Sundays have also been used over the years for the BSPA events, but we did have the double header this year against the Monarchs and Witches. Could that be an alternative day? I know it wasn't popular with the people I stand with.
  15. Is that for definite then - that Championship clubs won't be able to run Mondays and Thursdays? Seen there's been a lot of talking about it, but will it be confirmed at the BSPA meeting?
  16. Too many last places for Sheffield tonight, without the drive and spirit of Kyle Howarth don't think they can do it tonight, but push on lads do yer' best.
  17. Relegation/promotion, what a load of rubbish, all Sheffield have to do is ask and they'll be welcomed to the top league with open arms. Lakeside coming from the National to the premiership makes a total mockery of these two meetings.
  18. I agree with you, he's twice the rider he was at Sheffield last year.
  19. He tried hard, but probably blames himself for not getting anything out of heat 14. He looked really upset when getting his runners up medal at Foxhall on Saturday, so probably couldn't face it again!
  20. It's Bjerre and Howarth for us on Sunday. Josh G is still resting up so probably won't be riding in the promotion/relegation meetings Monday and Wednesday, but things can change I suppose.
  21. First time I saw one of those fence panels go down was when the Sheffield riders came over to the fans after heat 13, Todd Kurtz pushed it down as he tried to climb over it!
  22. Correct again! I thought that some blame for the incident had been put down to the state of the track, why else bring out the tractors to grade it after heat 1?
  23. I have to say you're spot on with all three points. He did lose it on Thursday in the middle of the third and fourth bends, causing Josh G to take evasive action (resulting in his injury woe!) He was about six feet away from the fence when he came down, after Nicholls passed him, somersaulting down the track together with his bike, in a straight line. The booing did start on the introduction of the teams, but got much worse after the first race incident.
