  1. So what was his 'problem/issue' when he walked out on Sheffield last year, as I understand he'd had quite a bit of sponsorship and a decent deal put his way? He was quite happy to continue riding for his National League side and take guest bookings for Championship sides as well. Think he's left it a little late to make his decision this year (for both his teams), compared to his early decision last year. No matter what his reason(s) is/are this time I think he'll be lucky to get signed again in the future, although it is reported that he's quit the sport!
  2. Read it again, Lynch was only involved on the phone with the people who were really building the team. In saying (about Hans Anderson) "absolutely brilliant, get him in.", doesn't exactly fit in with being 'heavily involved' with building the new team. With the riders they've got it didn't need Jim to give his opinion did it?
  3. Whilst you're talking about team managers, what about the comments made by Jim Lynch in this weeks Speedway Star. 'Shocked at losing his position at Beaumont Park'. Well most team managers in any sport who finish bottom of the league are sacked, didn't he know that! And what about... "I do also have to say that I don't think I was supposed to win that last match against Sheffield." So the riders didn't do that then, talk about blowing your own trumpet! He then continues stirring up the controversy again with, " I do wonder if the plan was that Sheffield would come up to the top league and Leicester would stay on Saturdays - so maybe inadvertently I got in the way of that!" No Jim if that was the plan I'm sure you would have been made aware of it seeing as you're a top manager and can so influence the outcome of meetings. What a total d1ck head!!!!!!
  4. With Vaculik riding there that's a possibility. Could he manage both Sheffield and Leicester now there are different race nights?
  5. If the stance on not letting riders without a Championship average from 2016 ride what about Brady Kurtz or Rohan Tungate, or would they have to have keep their averages from 2015?
  6. Not my preferred option, Scotty did ok for us in the playoff final and was ok in the league meeting he rode for us, but I think he was well under par in the promotion meetings against the Lions. Think it's only a matter of time before Kyle is signed up for next year (Hope so anyway!)
  7. Could Georgie be named as our number 8 if no other Championship team sign him? To stand in for Smith or Shanes if they've other commitments (approved by the FIM). Really good to see the promotion looking to make improvements where possible, but liked Georgie, he tried his best, even when he was outclassed and all that travelling. If he keeps up the effort he showed this year think he'll be one for the future - good luck to him and wish him all the best where ever he ends up riding next year. (So much more about him than that mardy-ar$e JPB)
  8. Howarth Bjerre Wright Proctor Bates Smith Wood That any better?
  9. Think they're going top heavy, but can't see it being either of those two, but can see Wood being the number 7.
  10. Heard that one of the Sheffield management team described him as, "Not a nice person."
  11. Thought it was his shoulder that was injured, he had one or two decent meetings for Sheffield early in the season and looked like he was going to be a good signing, then he started going backwards during races after making good/reasonable gates, most likely down to the injury he was carrying. Can't say anything about his form for Rye House as I didn't see any of the meetings. If he were to return to Sheffield and show his early season form again, don't think I'd have any problem with him being in our 1 to 7.
  12. Wonder who the 'new' number 1 was who let them down at the last minute and signed elsewhere "for a better deal." Looks like that might be the reason they re-signed Lasse when plans changed!
  13. Prefer Bjerre to Lawson, because if he doesn't get 'the gate' invariably he doesn't come first, like someone else put on here Lawson never seems to pass any decent riders at Sheffield, or reserve riders for that matter!
  14. Done some serious boot/bum licking if he is!
  15. Think you'll find that's the average order of the list! Plus start adding up the averages cos if that's the top three that's what it's going to be going to be further down, or similar (average wise).
  16. Not if he continues riding like he did for the last half of this season. Think the Glasgow fans were hoping he would be elsewhere next year from the posts they've been putting on for the last two or three months!
  17. Well if Bates wants to go somewhere to get more experience, Ipswich could be the place for him to go! Then our team could be: Grajzonek 9.47 Graversen 5.27 Heeps 6.93 Kurtz 5.23 Howarth 8.62 Greaves 4.51 Wood 2.31 Total 42.34 Could be a useful team! Would love to keep Josh G as he was outstanding at times this year and is good around most tracks in the Championship.
  18. After what he did this year can't see him coming back for a long time, unless he does some grovelling. Also Kerr and Sarge bound for Glasgow from what they're saying! Also thought Josh Bates was wanting to come back after this years success.
  19. Don't riders have a choice in who they ride for? The team that are prepared to pay the best money might seem more attractive to them. Not saying that would be a factor in Heeps case, just a general observation as 'assets' don't seem that loyal to their clubs and vice - versa.
  20. On page one of this thread there was a post stating that Sheffield would have to move up or change their race night as the Premiership were going to be riding Mondays and Thursdays and that this had been agreed by the BSPA at a pre- AGM meeting. There have been many other posts regarding this since. Well here we are just before the AGM and Damien Bates is on record in todays Speedway Star saying nothing has been decided re race nights and nothing will be until it's thrashed out at the said AGM this weekend. He talks about Mondays and Thursdays and Mondays and Wednesdays and that with 3 potential Championship Clubs (Sheffield, Ipswich and Redcar) being Thursday tracks the second option might be more suited. Chris Louis also alludes to this. So Thursday people all is not yet lost as here are two promotors who seem to have their heads screwed on, are batting for you. I'd also include the guy at Redcar (Keays) as he seems a sensible type also!
  21. For me the worst part about last night (and the times over the years similar incidents have happened) is the fact that no one really lets the crowd know what's actually happening. I felt a little sorry for Shaun Leigh (presenter) last night, as he can only convey what he is being told. Wouldn't it have been better if someone who's actually in charge and knows what's really happening, come out, explained what was happening and apologise to the paying public for something that is definitely nothing they are responsible for. Or is that too much to ask for?
  22. Would like to know where it was caught up in traffic, where did it come from? They must have known where it actually was at 7.30 (in these days of mobile phones), so knowing it wasn't going to get there for an hour or so, why not have the firework display! Everyone would have had some entertainment, then they could have had a few ad-lib interviews with riders, managers etc. A really bad show and it being the last of the season that unfortunately, will be the memory of speedway that I and a lot of others will carry through the winter. The best season we've had for years and it all finishes on such a low.
  23. It's my understanding (and I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong), that due to Owlerton Stadium being used as a dog track on most days (including Thursday afternoons) Thursday and Monday evenings are the only times that it is available for speedway. Sundays have also been used over the years for the BSPA events, but we did have the double header this year against the Monarchs and Witches. Could that be an alternative day? I know it wasn't popular with the people I stand with.
  24. Is that for definite then - that Championship clubs won't be able to run Mondays and Thursdays? Seen there's been a lot of talking about it, but will it be confirmed at the BSPA meeting?
