  1. Two third places would have been enough for me last night, but he couldn't beat Broc Nicol, who didn't have a good meeting, nor Luke Becker, who probably had the worst meeting he's had this season. As has already been stated having a good rider at reserve is always going to be a trump card, Douglas scored more than a third of Wolves total points last night, as it did for the Panthers, with Harris taking 7 rides the other week!
  2. Remember him riding for Belle Vue and scoring big. Don't think he liked big tracks, if I remember correctly Jonny Bailey used to spanner for him.
  3. If he's lost his bottle how come he can score big points for his new Championship club? Think if it was some kind of confidence thing it'd surely have been sorted by now, even if it meant him packing up with the sport. If he has got some kind of issue then fair enough, but I don't see why Sheffield Speedway and its fans should also suffer from whatever it is.
  4. He apparently asked to be taken out of his last ride in heat 12, pity he had to take a minimum of 3. However I don't condone the booing that was coming from the terraces towards him at the end of his poor displays in each of his rides. After the meeting when he was walking to his van after getting changed a young boy asked for a photo with him, his reply was "Are you sure?" before smiling and posing with the boy. Think that says a lot about the situation!
  5. Didn't realise Ryan Douglas was riding at reserve (is this correct?). He didn't have a great meeting last time at Owlerton, but if he's riding at reserve can see him scoring double points tomorrow.
  6. Who will be having a 'Glorious Twelfth'? Should be a good meeting, but that might depend on the Sheffield reserves showing up and scoring at home as well as away! Also depends on who'll be riding at 7, think Hume has done enough to be "signed up", but the management might be waiting to see if he can perform at Owlerton?
  7. And managed to pass another rider in one race!
  8. Morris usually takes a couple of races before he gets going at Owlerton. Bickley is a useless guest for us, remember him guesting for us in the Championship and getting 0 from 3 rides. He then came with Workington a couple of weeks later and scored half a dozen. Same when he guested against Ipswich he just couldn't get anywhere near the other three riders and when he got 'filled in' riding behind Cookie he lost all interest in the meeting! Don't hold out much hope this evening, just want them all to put some effort in so the fans get VFM.
  9. Just to see him try a little bit harder would be nice, but there's no effort, unless he gates and gets infront. We might as well have had Auty, he can't gate and usually has to try and pass!
  10. At present he's more of a 'Falling Star'.
  11. His shoulder apparently popped out last Thursday when he came off on the second bend so he's not going to have anywhere near 100% strength in that arm. Then there's the neck injury that he sustained at Peterboro' (think that was on the second bend coincidentally) and then the sledging back injury! All going to be taking a toll on his upper body strength. He's fighting with the bike all the time!
  12. Can't see Josh lasting much longer if he keeps coming off. He'll either get dropped or suffer a serious injury and my money is on the latter. Out of the three meetings I've seen him ride this year he never seems to be in control of the bike, he just appears to be hanging on, struggling to keep the back wheel behind him! Can't knock his enthusiasm but that won't keep him healthy.
  13. On Monday 7th June the TV scheduling is for Peterborough v Kings Lynn, but in Speedway Star it's showing Wolves v Sheffield as the Euro sport meeting! Could this be like the opening night where they had the main coverage from one meeting and updates from the other, or have SS got it wrong? I know which meeting I'd rather watch!
  14. Not being from Sheffield you'll not know that Neil Machin was the previous promoter of Sheffield Speedway and he would have put on the clubs website that the meeting was on no matter what the weather. The point I was making was that you'd get people turning up for the meeting only for the officials to pull the plug on it after they'd paid to get in!
  15. The promotion had to call this off early doors with the weather forecast as it was. There's always a good crowd come up from Peterborough and it was only fair to them to call it early. Gone are the days of Neil Machin and his, "it's definitely on." Only to get a crowd in and call it off at 8 - 8.15pm.
  16. The weather forecast is for a 90% or 100% chance of rain from 3pm to 10pm all day, but only 80% for some of the time before that. I think that's a bit more than it MIGHT rain!
  17. Think that on the web site they state that season ticket holders will be going through a turnstile instead of the usual side gate and that season ticket holders will be accommodated on the home straight and that those buying tickets would be on the third/fourth bends.
  18. How can you say 'embarrassed' when James Shanes and Nathan Greaves were included on the same list!
  19. Yeah and I can remember him twice bringing down his team mates causing mayhem! (Charles Wright and Jack Parkinson-Blackburn) No thanks
  20. He's already told us, seen today the thread he started on 23rd December about "The great reset" and 'the end of speedway'. Obviously didn't get the response required, so decided to try again on this thread when the opportunity arose! Apparently the husband of my niece also subscribes to this conspiracy (not the end of speedway bit, he's not a fan) and also is a believer in the U.S. being responsible for 9/11, the Royal family being reptile like aliens who drink infants blood and that the earth is flat! My brother-in-law is very concerned for his two young grand daughters!
  21. I'd agree with that, must be nailed on now that Somerset are out!
  22. Surely this is a 'World wide event' and not just our "puppet Prime Minister and his psychopathic henchmen" who are driving this. So who is in 'overall' control of this World wide collaboration? NOW GET OFF THIS THREAD AND JOIN THE REST OF THE IDIOTS ON THE COVID THREAD !
  23. This was mentioned in last weeks SS in an interview with Nicki. It said that Josh had tested positive for Covid 19, but that he hadn't suffered any symptoms. Wonder if all the squad was tested after Nicki came down with it after the press and practice day?
  24. No chance of that while the powers that be are on about releasing prisoners early to avoid over crowding during this period. I know it's a bit contentious on my part, but wouldn't it be a good idea to create space in prisons by getting rid of all the 'lifers'. Just a thought!
