  1. I agree he does put a lot of effort into his riding and is particularly fond of riding a wide line, he just needs to perfect the art of 'getting across' the opposition when he's passed them on the outside. An example was the Newcastle meeting when in heat 2 he kept to the outside for all 4 laps and was infront of Ben Hopwood every time they went over the start/ finish line. Until the end of the fourth lap when Ben cut him off. He also needs to practice his starts as he's always going to be gate 3 or 4 in every heat 2. Douglas did ride well last Sunday so Josh and Lasse need to put him in his place early doors. Same for Auty, if Kyle puts in a long distance win in heat 4 it might put him in a 'retiring' mood.
  2. So what's your take on what should happen if your number 1 is injured (or ill) and can't ride?
  3. There's more than that turning long term fans away from speedway!
  4. Josh G is just as capable of doing what Richard Lawson did at the STMP tonight. Sheffields' top 3 were head and shoulders above their Redcar rivals.
  5. No, it should be at Belle View, the National speedway stadium, as should the fours and CLRC.
  6. Was he down to ride for the Scunthorpe 4, who now aren't competing, it's a Poultec select team instead.
  7. If he does end up signing for Berwick for the remainder of the season it'll throw up some questions over his stepping down from the Sheffield team.
  8. Be interesting to see how he fares and how many more guest appearances he makes and for who!
  9. Agree, would give the guy some confidence, needs to ride the track against competition, did ok although his gating wasn't great he passed to get a point in all his races.
  10. Very good, care to have a go at Saturdays lottery numbers, you can pm me with them!
  11. Can't wait for Thursday, the promotion are giving away free air horns to the first 50 kids through the turnstiles! Last time they did it there was a kid near us who was blowing it all through the evening, couldn't hear the announcer or the people I was standing with!
  12. Yep, it's the BRITSH GP so why do we have to have the Welsh national anthem first before the real thing. Thought Wales was still part of UK!
  13. Yeah, scored as many points as the wildcard British Champion from 2 less rides!
  14. Not many FTG races last night, some good competitive racing and some decent passing, not by Proctor though!
  15. Know exactly what you mean, I had a similar occurrence earlier on this thread!
  16. No, I made an error! Agree, he looked promising last week riding for Berwick, 4, paid 7 points for what I think was his first outing at Owlerton. If he can do all four laps of a race like he does the first two, then he's real potential at this track IMO.
  17. Terrible shame for Howarth and the Tigers chances in the pairs on Friday. Good news regarding the signing of Graversen at reserve, hopefully he'll do the business and think he'll have his work cut out on Thursday against the Comets with both Howarth and possibly Bates missing from the line up.
  18. Looks like Graversen is coming in for Branford, promotion also talking to Wood in the pits after the meeting, give him a go at Peterborough tomorrow if possible!
  19. Thanks, stopped raining here about half an hour ago as well!
  20. Where's this from? According to official web page it's still on!
  21. Me neither, not after what I've been watching for the last few weeks. I'm approx 5 miles from track and it's been raining pretty much continuously all day here!
  22. The 6th July reserved date has now gone due to it being SWC time (no meeting scheduled for that date!) and essential stadium maintenance. Had this before, is it that some safety certificate has to be re-newed at this specific time? If not why can't this essential work be done on another day, say in between mid October and mid March. Crazy if you ask me!
  23. The last time this happened was the Ipswich meeting (another Thursday home track) although the track was apparently ok, and from where I was it looked fine, the rain which was forecast to have abated by then, continued as "light drizzle" resulting in the meeting not going ahead due to visibility issues for the riders. The BBC forecast I saw this morning showed rain over South Yorkshire all day, but the forecaster did say there would would be dry spells during parts of the day. Think the promotion are having a bit of a gamble due to the rain - off situation looking like it is going to present issues further along the line. Can't blame them really.
  24. Is that because you're wrong and cannot defend what you've posted?
