  1. Anyone know what the Ipswich team is tonight? Can't remember seeing it on here and it's not on their official website.
  2. Agree 100%. If he's fit to ride Monday and fit to ride Wednesday, then he's fit enough to ride on Tuesday. Absolute nonsense, he should be cited for with holding his services and banned for 28 days!
  3. Whens the re-staging of the CLRC being held? They'd better get it right for that. Or better still they could have it at Sheffield!
  4. Seems like an awful lot of falls tonight. Has the track not been prepared for decent racing tonight for some reason?
  5. And one of those last places was our number one who was obviously having problems with his machinery! As a Sheffield fan I'm erring on the side of caution, we did get a spanking there early on in the season, ok they did have Nico Covatti riding for them at the time, but Danny King and Rory Schlein are no mugs around Foxhall and we rarely seem to do well there. Call me a pessimist........., but I do think we'll win the lot - pairs included!
  6. They have to take on the "next" best team in the league in the K.O. cup and probably in the play off final, so it could be very different and not such a shock!
  7. Yes the TIGERS will win, there's no doubt about that, let's just hope it's the SHEFFIELD TIGERS!
  8. If it stops raining around 3.30 - 4.00 it'll give Boocock and co. time to get the track down. They did a very good job of it last week may I say, 30 heats and no apparent track issues!
  9. My initial post was about the fact that Barker was down to ride on Monday and the last I knew was that he'd got a broken wrist! Yes I was at STMP on the Friday night and saw the incident at the start of the home straight where Barker had locked up a little in the 4th bend, Howarth got his wheels in line and went wizzing down the straight, he must have caught Barkers handlebars or his front wheel with his rear wheel as he passed him to bring him down. Didn't 'wipe him out'. Barker seemed to go down awkwardly which must have resulted in his wrist injury! Ben Barker is an exiting rider, accepted, not everyones cup of tea, (ask the Peterborough fans for their opinion) and that Friday evening heat 1 bend 1 he was on the inside of Josh Grajczonek, made contact with him, forcing him wide, and passed him! Seen him do it a few times and it's called racing. Yes if he's your rider I can understand why you like him, he's full of enthusiasm, outstanding performances? what happened on our last visit in August? Hope you get chance to watch him next season.
  10. Hardly 'wiped him out' did he, Kyle went past him that fast he was at least three bikes lengths past him before Barker went down! Ben doesn't usually need anyone to wipe him out, he's quite good at coming off by himself, and he usually likes a bit of contact with other riders during racing.
  11. Thought Barker had a broken wrist after the draught of Kyle passing him caused him to fall off the other week?
  12. Just seen Josh Bates not riding tonight after a fall at home. Think that will diminish our chances even though flyin' Ryan Douglas will be guesting for him. Josh really put his all into the last meeting up there, even though he was riding Todds bike in his last two races, his effort was incredible. Lasse Bjerre was missing last time, but will he perform tonight? Think the knee injury he's carrying might hinder him at the STMP more than it does on the bigger track at Sheffield.
  13. Sorry, 4 man forgot about the original guest Lewis Kerr! Yes Josh G and Kyle on fire!
  14. I agree he does put a lot of effort into his riding and is particularly fond of riding a wide line, he just needs to perfect the art of 'getting across' the opposition when he's passed them on the outside. An example was the Newcastle meeting when in heat 2 he kept to the outside for all 4 laps and was infront of Ben Hopwood every time they went over the start/ finish line. Until the end of the fourth lap when Ben cut him off. He also needs to practice his starts as he's always going to be gate 3 or 4 in every heat 2. Douglas did ride well last Sunday so Josh and Lasse need to put him in his place early doors. Same for Auty, if Kyle puts in a long distance win in heat 4 it might put him in a 'retiring' mood.
  15. So what's your take on what should happen if your number 1 is injured (or ill) and can't ride?
  16. There's more than that turning long term fans away from speedway!
  17. Josh G is just as capable of doing what Richard Lawson did at the STMP tonight. Sheffields' top 3 were head and shoulders above their Redcar rivals.
  18. No, it should be at Belle View, the National speedway stadium, as should the fours and CLRC.
  19. Was he down to ride for the Scunthorpe 4, who now aren't competing, it's a Poultec select team instead.
  20. If he does end up signing for Berwick for the remainder of the season it'll throw up some questions over his stepping down from the Sheffield team.
  21. Be interesting to see how he fares and how many more guest appearances he makes and for who!
  22. Agree, would give the guy some confidence, needs to ride the track against competition, did ok although his gating wasn't great he passed to get a point in all his races.
  23. Very good, care to have a go at Saturdays lottery numbers, you can pm me with them!
  24. Can't wait for Thursday, the promotion are giving away free air horns to the first 50 kids through the turnstiles! Last time they did it there was a kid near us who was blowing it all through the evening, couldn't hear the announcer or the people I was standing with!
