Peterborough Panthers 2023
Hamish McRaker replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Judging by the comments on here concerning Mr Chapman's broadcast during this Monday's match, would it be a surprise if he were to be actually operating the bulldozer destroying the stadium, grinning from ear to ear and happily singing "It's Over"? And will anyone attend any Farewell meeting (paying or for free) that is promoted and organised by him? -
Richie Worrall statement
Hamish McRaker replied to davieb1's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I just wonder how genuinely random the selection of riders, really is? Both Morris and Worrall were riding soon after sustaining and suffering from injuries which had recently prevented them from riding for a short time. Making them prime targets. -

It couldn't be the landlord, could it? Or is he still banned by the SCB for his previous misdemeanors? -
Hope you've got a steady hand today

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Tai Woffinden being able to continue riding, this season. Probably needs a few days from the accident until the exact nature and extent of the damage can be established, and from there the treatment and management options.

Cue the Sheffield/Leicester conspiracy crackpots......

Just trying to think along different lines, which is what the original poster was asking for. As an old relic myself, this does not come easy. Many sports, or variants of them, feature elimination, whether that elimination is during the event itself, or happens over a longer period of time. Speedway GP's and Leagues have it. But to meet the challenge set us, we don't want to create a new individual competition/event, nor do we want to create another league of teams. Remember the requirement is for made for TV variant. We can still have teams. I think that's important. Just not formed into the traditional league format. So maybe look at teams of 3 or 4 riders. None of them aligned to a particular track or club. A tournament which runs throughout part or maybe even the whole season. It has progressive elimination built into the format, so that by the final event, you have maybe three four of them left. Riders are graded 1-4, and in the event of injuries, riders from teams eliminated in previous rounds can be drafted in as replacements. But no team changes otherwise allowed.

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
Hamish McRaker replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
But Sheffield lost Jack Holder, who had a much higher average than Nick Morris, so it's difficult to compare isn't it? Leicester have been mainly stuffed by Morris and the lack of scope for replacing him, plus some riders haven't been able to maintain their points output. More of a local issue, isn't it? As for putting the club up for sale, well that's a different matter -

Ok I've bitten - spill the beans. -
C.Holder in to begin with, then when he is fit enough, they will use that little-known rule that allows one brother to replace another regardless of averages and at any stage of the season.

It makes you nostalgic for Robert 72 Hang on, it couldn't be, could it??

What sort of average would Greg Hancock be given? Always looks like he's at a loose end on the GP TV coverage -

Sign three riders around 4.7? At the same time? Stacked up high like the shelves at Tesco, so they are. Just sitting there waiting. Any suggestions?

I hear that he has a very positive opinion about you, though

Witches v Lions 24th August
Hamish McRaker replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Apparently it is Nick Morris's old suit. Somewhat damp down in the feet -
Leicester could be interested if Pickering were to become available, but wouldn't Sheffield need to fully rebuild the rest of the team in order to achieve a Museilak/Holder/Woffinden top three? Bit of a push at this stage?

Nobody has mentioned the possibility of Howarth being let go, so far (along with Ellis)

What an absolute load of bottom gravy this is! Chris Harris ought to stay schtum now because if he continues he's at risk of making himself seem stupid and that would be a great shame because he is a speedway legend. I think what he was scoring for Leicester, is probably what he would be scoring for any premiership club. He's having a fantastic season with the long track so far, why tarnish that by pointless whingeing? -

Possibly Cook has a better chance of staying above Allen than Batchelor? -
What are the realistic chances of Jack Holder returning this season? Broken wrists cannot be taken lightly. If he attempts to ride and it goes badly, Sheffield could be stuffed. Could there be a plan that doesn't include him and which avoids the risk?

Or he may be kept employed within the "family business", averages permitting? -

Is there the slightest possibility that AEPG have closed the doors on Chapman, but would consider doing a deal with a different party?
