  1. Unless they have become officially insolvent and an administrator has been appointed, in which case you would become a creditor (with little hope of getting anything back). But as Vulcan says the best chance you probably have is they get some money coming in on Monday, then it's a case of what position do you have in the queue to be paid out? I hope the KL fans who are rightly disillusioned about this and are vowing to never set foot in Beaumont Park stadium again, might re-consider that if and when new management are running the club. And by new, it would have to be completely Hemsley-free I would think.
  2. Scotsmen prefer dank, gloomy and drizzle. Sun shining all day for us that's poor weather. It's all a cultural thing.
  3. New and little known BSPA rule brought in this season. The guest system now applies to fans. If you can't find somebody suitable with a lower average than you KL will have to use F/R and share the ticket among other KL fans.
  4. Absolutely, it's surely a case of what is considered to be a reasonable time for a refund to be processed. If you were alone in that situation, they could perhaps justify the delay on the grounds of an admin oversight, but if there's 10+ of you...... Have you tried contacting the BSPA?
  5. Possible scenario is that if they've become financially insolvent, they're no longer allowed to write cheques
  6. What is the average length of time riders have to await payment from their club?I heard that one of the reasons (maybe the main reason) Jason Doyle was happy at Leicester for almost two seasons, was that he got paid on time. So what's happened to turn a club which was paying riders "on time" into this situation? Or was it only Doyle who was being paid on time? Maybe that's the reason Leicester in the EL have had so many riders who leave after a short time?
  7. Calm down, dears. 1. He hasn't scored a point yet 2. The last time he rode for Wolves, he was crap a lot of the time 3. There already is a squad system - it's called the asset system (no prizes for guessing where the biggest squad is) 4. Who is Kylmakorpi an asset/squad member of? It it's not Wolves, he's already a squad member somewhere 5. Riders are just basically cattle 6. If other teams are cacking themselves about this, they'll just have to raise their performance levels Simple
  8. Why not save time and have the victory parade before the match starts, or during the interval?
  9. A very good point rmc. My apologies for starting it off. I will maybe resume my Scottish nationalist angle at a more suitable time.
  10. Tempting to think in terms of hitting the "reset" button at a time from days gone by, and everything will be ok again. It's the mistake those Brexiteers people (poor deluded souls) are making at the moment. The simple truth is you can't re-create something, because it existed back then because the prevailing circumstances created it. Right now we have a very different set of prevailing circumstances, a very different world. What needs to be done is to create something suitable for now, and not use past templates.
  11. Aye, only have to get through to end of August now of course, so might scrape through with a bit of luck
  12. I'm sure that Nightshift is capable of answering my question himself
  13. Intriguing possibility, an amalgamation of some kind. Could be the best chance of longer term survival especially in the current context, and that includes the future of the Elite league. Remember there are 3 teams involved here. Anything's possible and anyone who says "over my dead body" needs to understand the reality of where the main power and influence now resides in the European scheme of things, and it's full effects. Leicester and Coventry seem to have their own different problems, and this could provide a solution to them, the question as always is would it be a lasting one. And any comparisons with 1983 are completely irrelevant to today's situation.
  14. I think it could firstly be a matter of will Leicester be able to complete THIS season, because from the occasional video clip and photo, the crowd level has started to seem a bit on the sparse side. Of course Mr Hemsley could be happy and able to put lots of his own cash in to keep things going as a kind of hobby thing, or maybe the bank is very supportive and happy to keep on extending more credit, because I doubt if the main club sponsors are putting in anywhere near what would be required to make up the losses which have been suggested on here.
  15. The start of a new era. The previously unthinkable has a habit of happening in life. An amalgamation of the two old rivals, based at Beaumont Park. So, Which league (assuming there will be a choice)? Which race night? Team manager - Allan, Havelock, job-share, or neither of them? Promoter - Horton, Hemsley, someone else? Light blue touch paper......retreat a safe distance.....
  16. He's probably keen for Leicester to stay in business for the rest of the season
  17. Ok, I'll have a go at answering my own question then (nobody else seems interested!). Let's say that Team X, struggling to attract new riders and with sharply declining attendances, can't carry on running any more. They call the BSPA and say "we're pulling out of the league, use the bond to pay money owed to riders". So it becomes a league of 7 instead of 8. What's more likely to happen? Scenario A : the other promoters make a collective decision to all chip in and keep Team X running until the end of the season. Somebody is installed by them as promoter. It keeps the league at 8 teams, thus ensuring no fall in fixture numbers, and Sky continuing to broadcast matches. or... Scenario B : the other promoters do basically nothing except try to pay riders money owed using the bond, let the league go down to 7 teams, use the "spare" riders to help bolster the remaining teams, but have a reduced fixture list and run the risk that Sky will invoke their prerogative to walk away. Which one?? Any takers? Place your bets, And PLEASE if you want to cr*p on about Woffinden, get a bl**dy room!!
  18. Two years ago, Birmingham dropped out, but there were 10 teams back then and the league withstood it. If a team has to drop out this year, would the league be a viable proposition with only 7 left? Would Sky invoke their "get out clause?".
  19. Is Cameron Woodward fit and riding again yet? And does anyone know if Seb Ulamek is just over here to get in a bit of practice before Poland gets properly underway?
  20. Yes, and the fence was considered to be a job requiring specialist expertise (quite rightly) and therefore not done by the contractors. Those installing the fence, whenever it was done, were also "experts" about tracks I think, and therefore you would think they would have had a very good opportunity to raise their concerns! It would be interesting to know if the contractors (aka "Paddy Murphy") themselves used the services of experienced track curators in doing the job. I can hardly believe they would not have done. And if so, what was the nature of their relationship with those people, and how good were they? Presumably the nature of the contract with the contractors precluded Belle Vue from having direct input until very late-on in proceedings. And left them in a terrible dilemma, and produced a disastrous outcome. So it looks as if this may end up being dealt with in court, meanwhile the poor sods who spent money on travel, accommodation and tickets are left dangling.
