  1. Is it possible that Leicester and Sheffield will swap leagues before the season starts? Gives Leicester a chance to re-build and re-establish local goodwill/reputation; and Sheffield could get Richard Lawson!
  2. You're right they should be charged at the same as Leicester are paying, hopefully David Hemsley as landlord is being reasonable and realistic, and not trying to take undue advantage. A short term tenancy could be charged at a considerably higher rate compared with Leicester's 15 year lease, so hopefully Coventry are not being ripped off - like you say, a fair price.
  3. If they'd "taken a sabbatical" it would probably have equalled a death sentence. What they're probably getting is use of Leicester at a low rent but I think it has got to be short term only with a planned return to Brandon date set out ASAP otherwise it will turn into another farce.
  4. Think that LionsDen's recent post on the other Leicester thread makes it pretty clear!
  5. According to the website, it looks like Leicester has signed the 7 Tbc brothers as the 2017 team
  6. A certain south coast promoter should be pelted with rotten eggs for his disgraceful comments last year, that it's everyone for themselves and devil take the hindmost, not his problem if other clubs are struggling to survive. The strong support shown by speedway supporters this winter, for the futures of Leicester, Belle Vue and Coventry make his views sound more akin to the utterings of D.Trump. In times like these, all need to and do pull together.
  7. Try using some Calamine Lotion, it works for me
  8. The new lease hopefully allows further changes to be made to the track by the new company, with a reasonably free hand. If that wasn't included in the negotiations it would be a major clanger but hopefully Buster Chapman didn't drop it. I suppose more flesh will soon begin to be added to the bare bones of today's announcement. Will Glyn Taylor stay as track curator?
  9. Intriguing. Would Mr Hemsleys company be in a position to grant a 15-year lease? If not, the lease might have been struck with the council, and Mr Hemsley has been by-passed or has even left the stage. Anyways, the new lot need to get working on that track, before it turns into a swamp.
  10. Presuming Coventry Speedway is still going to be the headleaseholder from 1/1/17,would just running speedway be viable? I thought Stox were needed for providing a substantial slice of the stadium operating costs.
  11. Well I don't like getting involved in any of the childish slagging off stuff that goes on and on and on.... Bit o childish humour don't do any harm tho, hopefully Comrade Orlov may have a wee chuckle. Anyways, I'll go and let the usual morons get on with the mud-slinging!
  12. Nothing wrong with him covering himself in doodles and sticking Pontefract Cakes in his ears, if he wants to. I'm over 75 and often go around wearing my underpants on my head and pencils stuck up my nose
  13. Another whingeing Aussie. Surely Monsterland can give him a benefit meeting instead, along with his Monster mates Greg and Noddy.
  14. The leagues only as strong as it's weakest link
  15. If I were Swindon I'd give Mr Doyle the boot now, and re-build the team whilst it's not too late. It is crazy to have such high dependence on one rider, who is costing 2 points at least in terms of team strength. No guarantee he will be 100% next year after the injuries, either. Loyalty? Contracts? Balderdash!! It's all just one big revolving door. Riders know that, so do promoters.
  16. Wolves and KL to complete, then see what's left for Leicester presuming Belle Vue will be OK and have their 7 already lined up. Then a case of seeing which of those left over actually want to be with Leicester ( or don't have any options left). Would Leicester have been better going into Division 2 and building a team to compete for promotion, develop more of an asset base and also re-employ Mr Graversen? Or should they carry on up the Khyber?
  17. I forget who it was now, but someone posted a couple of weeks ago that Mr Landlord Hemsley aka Risgby had said there wouldn't be anyone available to open and lock up during the week
  18. That's the stuff! It all just needs a bit more imagination and thinking outside the box. Nicknames have got so boring and predicatable. For example - rather than Scott "Scotty" Nicholls - make it Scott "The Suffolk Punch" Nicholls And how about Adam "Meccano" Roynon?
  19. Bring it on I say. Robert "Five Flavours" Pfetzing is hard to beat! The sport's got to do something to broaden its appeal. Maybe the BSPA can hire Rob Walker to give things a much-needed makeover. I'm just wondering which rider would have the nickname "Interesting". Timo "Skinny" Lahti?
  20. Is it time for speedway to follow snooker, and for riders to all have nicknames used in the pre-match introductions?
  21. Good quality bo//ocks needs time to compose.I look forward to seeing pictures ofMessrs Horton and Sandhu, hand in hand skipping through spring meadows
