  1. Australian riders in their early years in UK usually have more success if they have another Aussie in the same team. For Peterborough's sake Mr Chapman needs to bury the hatchet with Chris Holder, and with Craig Cook and get them into the team before it's too late. If he can't do that, maybe he should step aside and let other people take over?
  2. Perhaps because Chapman would over-rule him because Zagar has a Z in his name?
  3. Yes, he would have to pay and maybe he's now preferring to sit on his "speedway money" and waiting to see what happens not just with Peterborough but the whole speedway situation in the UK. Maybe he could finance a large indoor arena which could be multipurpose for speedway, horse jumping, monster trucks and karts (not all at same time, though). Is there anything like that anywhere else in the region yet?
  4. Maybe the best hope is that Mr Tomalin has decided that at present, the only sensible thing to do is to go "under the radar" and just let Mr Chapman's control of the club run to its conclusion, which may turn out to be not too pleasant. If he puts money in to pay for "expensive" riders, would it now really make that much difference, especially if that meets with resistance from Mr Chapman who is clearly averse to spending and could just block anything? Mr Chapman has already laid down a clear marker of who is on charge with the outcome of "Holdergate". So what can Mr Tomalin now do, in the short-term? Not very much, I guess. Your hope has to be that he's now focussing on the longer term but has to keep his cards in his hand for now
  5. Bend it like Pedersen - I can see a movie being made
  6. As long as he's breathing and has bikes and a mechanic you probably can't be too fussy
  7. Just needs to be someone with an average of 7.18 or more?
  8. That's Leicester's guest rider sorted, if they ever need one
  9. Could just be that Chapman and Tomalin have had a good old chat and have decided it's best to work together, accepting that one particular "red line" of Chapman's is kept and another one dropped?
  10. Stand by for a further statement from "Buster Chapman", along the lines of... Freddie Lindgren's always been a big mate and we've wanted to do a deal for years.....etc etc
  11. Peter Adams a notable exception to that rule - probably along with Middleditch, Rossiter and Boocock the most capable club team manager of the last 30 years. Don't think he was ever a rider. Rob Lyon and Stewart Dickson also not too shabby for non-riders
  12. Are they the equivalent of what is known as "bottom feeders" in the marine animal world?
  13. Has to be given a maximum of two home matches to prove himself, unless he turns up for first home match with an attitude and/or equipment which is so poor that justifies being told to **** off straight away
  14. Often when someone goes quiet, it can mean they're up to something and don't want it known about, especially the adversary party
  15. Ex Lions riders to help give their former club a right old spanking on their return to the top league tonight
  16. The utter stupidity of trying to begin the season in March, bites GB speedway on the bum once again. And if Pedersen has walked away, it would make "Buster Chapman"'s recent eulogy to him ring rather hollow, wouldn't it? Are messrs Ljung and Buzkowski still riding??
  17. Yes this is one of the innovations Phil Morris has brought in. The away team can play a "joker" at any stage in the match and move the white line out by up to 2 metres
  18. Deja vu all over again. Should have signed Chris Holder....oh, hang on......
  19. Surprisingly eloquent statement by Buster Chapman following the Pedersen signing! Anyway, whether his own words or someone else's, it could have been taken as a critique of Holder by his extolling Pedersen's virtues, plus sending out the clear message, "I'm the boss around here".
  20. Phil Morris will put a stop to that and he'll also sort out the parking restrictions.
  21. If I recall events correctly - no guarantee of that, I concede - was D.Allitt, someone with possibly limited previous experience, put into the team manager job after Rob Lyon, the previous and highly experienced incumbent, had stood down from that role? I think that may have been the case. I think that Mr Lyon continued to be a Co-Promoter at King's Lynn until he resigned late in July 2017 (shortly following the "walkouts" of C.Holder and Batchelor), citing as his reasons his inability to give the position sufficient time, something which had been the case for several weeks, and possibly months. I must admit to having no definite knowledge of Mr Allitt's credentials (at that time) and I hope he has recovered from his illness. However, I'm guessing his previous experience, certainly of managing international-level riders such as C.Holder, was limited. In which case, during that season he would have expected to have been given support and supervision by his highly-experienced promoters, Messrs Lyon and Chapman. From his "resignation statement" of 26 July, it appears that Mr Lyon's ability to do that had probably been restricted. How much "hands-on" support had K.Chapman been giving to D. Allitt? I bet the answer to that is "not a lot"! (I seem to recall C.Holder, after being sacked, saying he rarely saw or spoke with K. Chapman). D.Allitt probably wasn't previously a professional speedway rider, was quite new to the job at that level, and maybe didn't get the assistance he would have needed - did that apply on the evening in question, or did Messrs Lyon and Chapman intervene in a timely fashion? Middleditch saw what was kicking off and acted accordingly, smart guy! Taking a guess, I'd say that Dale Allitt was probably hung out to dry and had no chance of persuading Holder and Batchelor to change their minds. But I wasn't there in the pits.....
