  1. The "Jayden O'Malley case" will still be coming back to bite speedway on the bum, I fear. Max Fricke, Harley Horwood, Damien Koppe (Sheffield) and the lad Ryan Douglas at Scunny -- will they all be granted visas (or is it work permits that matter?) automatically? If any of the above have access to EU passports, and don't need work permits, I apologise
  2. Certainly ridiculous when you are including Kenny Ingalls, who will not be fit enough to race until 2014.
  3. Facundo Albin scored three wins on way to final in the first round of the Argentinian Championship on Sunday. In final, he ran third, behind Nico Covatti and Poland's Mariusz Fierlej.
  4. OK, the topic is called "Cheapest Speedway Admission In Premier". So that's Berwick. Undoubtably. Next question: Who is demanding the most-expensive admission in the Premier?
  5. There was a young Brit who was beginning to show how he deserved to be in the Premier. James McBain. Who lives some 375 miles closer to Ashfield than the lad Jacobs, who I have no complaint about otherwise.
  6. I see the first round of the annual Argentinian Championship was at the weekend, won by Nico Covatti. Any other scorers?
  7. Exactly. Watching speedway should be a social occasion. An entertainment. Tigers have a great stadium, and the potential for an entertaining (that word again) group of incoming riders to freshen the product. Bugger away results -- just get along every Thursday and watch the fun!
  8. and you know that how? Absolutely correct. Quite a bit north of both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Indeed, Berwick-on-Tweed is about the same latitude as Glasgow.
  9. Ingalls is out for whole 2013 season. Why do people (on several threads) keep trying to resurrect his career?
  10. I think the sudden influx of revenue from Rangers and Celtic visits is burning a hole in Berwick Rangers' pockets. Instead of wisely investing for the rainy days to come, they feel they have to spend it! To suggest that Shielfield -- on of the cleanest and most-acceptable venues in the lower Scottish leagues -- requires expensive maintainence is a nonsense. Been to see Albion Rovers lately? Delusions of grandeur, I fear.
  11. 100% correct way to go. Except maybe that 3) is more important than the other two!
  12. And still means Rebels paying three loan fees to train riders for other clubs. Having young Brits in your team is good, of course -- but can't you find any of your own?
  13. Erm, because they're loanees from clubs who are?
  14. I guess only the BSPA office knows what has been signed (and more-importantly, lodged with them) in all cases. If young Nathan does his six home, six away (or whatever it is this year) for the Fen Tigers, won't he become their asset unless he's already logged in by some other club. In which case Mildenhall will be paying a loan fee?
  15. That sounds positive, if he is working here. Does he have, or not need, a work permit? Saw on another thread some worries that first-time Aussies who haven't reached a certain standard might not get the necessary OK. This after the fuss when Glasgow got a last-minute OK for Jayden O'Malley last year - which was proved to be the wrong decision, and must have sharpened the authorities' thinking on unknown quantities when speedway work permits are applied for.
  16. Is Damien Koppe wintering in England, then?
  17. Rubbish! You are obsessed by numbers, who cares if it is below a limit? If (if) this is the team -- we only have one poster's word it is -- Tigers are building for the future with the three new young assets, they've signed a club legend who is still one of Britain's very best in either league, a two-time British U-21 champion who looks like resuming his upward progress after some awful injuries and have two solid-at-home riders to steady the ship. The future's bright, the future's blue-and-yellow.
  18. Pity that he's signed up for Berwick Bandits, then!
  19. What kind of team did you want, sonny? Plymouth 2012 had two big heat-leaders.
  20. Would certainly give Tigers an experienced heat-leader trio! James would be the 'baby' as he's only 38!
  21. Cannot believe such negative attitudes. A club needs to win at home and entertain spectators. What happens out on the road is neither here nor there. Tigers have in Stead, Hall and Haines a trio to help the first bit. In Koppe, Knight and the suggested Facundo Albin they have new names who will try their damndest to prove themselves and be entertaining in the process. Plus a handy number of points to fit in the final jigsaw piece. Within a sensible budget. So what's the problem? The people on here who are already posting they'll pick and choose meetings, etc, are clearly the kind of people who get all the rest of us tarred by the now-famous phrase "forum fannies". Which I don't like, but have to agree with when I read such posts.
  22. Kate is still throwing up, don't think they'll have thought of a name yet. But (although it might take a while, some fifty-odd years) the child WILL be a monarch!
  23. A lot of people have been urging we sign Micky Dyer, whoever he belongs to. Sorry to learn he had a big crash in Australia at the weekend, hope he is OK after breaks heal up.
