  1. Plymouth people are talking about signing an Argentinean? But Berwick without Mr Barrie would be like Laurel without Hardy. He's black-and-gold to the core.
  2. Another Argy? Dick Barrie's notes in Speedway Star don't really indicate anyone (other than Sanchez and the Berwick-bound Albin) who seem ready just yet. Is it Facundo Cuello? Or will it be Nickolas Covatti, doubling down -- that'll be a good move!
  3. Well, fair enough, Gordon. But at Firhill on Saturday, the audience was told it was because one club objected. And this week's club newsletter says: Dear Tigers fan As you will now have heard, following an objection raised by another club at the recent BSPA Conference, we have suffered the deep disappointment of losing a vote which prevents us from switching race night to our desired Friday. Mixed messages.......
  4. On what grounds do you think you're getting a big signing?
  5. So, are you saying -- confirming -- that Edinburgh was the club?
  6. Now that is a shame. An outstanding prospect. The "one club" which forced Tigers off Friday nights certainly have a lot to asswer for.
  7. With Joe, James and Henning already returning, if we're now chatting about James McBain (I approve) and Charles (hmmm) also coming back, isn't this a case of a danger of the "newco" just repeating the status quo each Sunday? Where is the new "young and exciting team" we were promised? Sadly, it seems more and more evident that the "new promotion" aren't necessarily the ones doing the thinking!
  8. James surely deserves a proper chance in the 1-7.
  9. Be careful what you wish for mate. Up here, both Edinburgh and Glasgow won the league and ended up with big debts. Better to have an inexpensive team, some fun and entertainment, close home wins and finish mid-table with a profit, or breaking even. Marvellous deal for Berwick season tickets. £139 less than Glasgow. Well done that promotion.
  10. I can't see either Scottish club doing much to worry the southern sides next season. Tigers seem intent on doing all the things that cost them so much money in the past, and if Monarchs are really going to bring Kalle back, the only winners will be Smirnoff's shareholders!
  11. Beginning to look "same old, same old" if it'll be the same guys, racing on a Sunday for promoter Alan Dick. Not quite what we were hoping for?
  12. Very good post. Riders from all over the world in the Premier League. And always refreshing to see southern clubs at least once a year at Ashfield.
  13. Dyer himself told the newspaper at Berwick he belonged to Gary Patchett. But maybe Edinburgh have someone on the board who can make things happen at the BSPA?
  14. Guys like Andy Tully and Matt Wethers could form a very solid backbone for what seems to be going to be a restructured Glasgow Tigers line-up. Every faith in Alan Biggurt really shaking things up for the Tigers -- look out Monarchs! The fact of both racing on Fridays means that when we do meet up, it'll be new and fresh, good for both clubs, I think.
  15. Mason Campton was a bit of a hero to fans at Glasgow, but I think he fell out of favour with the old promotion. He is a very nice polite young man and conducts himself very well. Good luck to him at Derwent Park
  16. I'm really excited about things. The arrival of Alan Biggurt has been marvellous, so refreshing. He has a new management team in place, and will have a new team on the track. Roll on Friday nights
