Speedway World Cup 2017
crazyb replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Let's face it he's an Aussie really. Bet he wishes now he'd have took out their licence Add Peterborough to Belle Vue as the closest to a Polish track. It's awesome and has more racing lines and overtakes in one meeting than King's Lynn has in a dozen -
Agree completely

It was tried in the mid-nineties and to me was brilliant, but it nearly ruined the Scottish sides who also struggled to get riders. I would love it to return to a combined league (not counting the NL sides, although one or two might want to join). If it is too costly, then go for three regionalised leagues, with play-offs. This would need more thinking out than what the BSPA seem capable of doing, as there are two or three teams that are borderline geographically, but more local derbies should be a crowd-puller most of the time; although you get to the old problem of not enough riders, but it's worth a try. In my honest opinion the GP circus hasn't helped British speedway at all. It has no novelty value now (and that's all it was before really), with meetings every two weeks or so: and the same goes for the World Team Cup. This should never be every year, and we now get to the stupid rule of riders having to miss fixtures for their own sides for a week or so. One or two meetings in total for June and July combines says it all! There needs to be a total revamp, and if the outcome means that riders turn their backs on the UK so be it, but the grass is always greener, or so they say.

I agree. At the very most it should be every other year, and that is too much. With more guests than ever in British speedway, mainly because of a chronic shortage of riders, (due to many things, not least foreign meetings) why take riders out for a whole week. It's just plain stupid, and it's about time the BSPA told the FIM where to get off. Or is it Monster Energy.

Peterborough V Glasgow 25/6/17 Championship
crazyb replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's how the riders wanted it. It's not just the Danes who like it slick it seems, even the Aussies do. Too grippy for them last week Lets face twit, Richard was good in late 2006, but what has he done since, although to be fair he's OK on the long tracks, but that doesn't help us Whops Fingers slipped, I meant "lets face it" Honest! -
Sorry about that, pressed the wrong button. Should have been a separate quote
-
I think he's learnt them from Swales.
-
Like I said before the start of the season, they would struggle to finish bottom, and but for Berwick and possibly Scunthorpe that's where they deserve to be
-
Time for changes. Just for once try gates two and four in heat one. Wouldn't expect the so-called team manager to know that it is often gate four that wins. Gate three is normally a graveyard in the first heat. He is absolutely clueless. Wonder what pearls of cr*p he will come out with after this. What are the positives Johnson? Something about looking over the shoulder: looking to see where the Panthers have gone. Backwards
-
I said when Panthers side was released before that they would struggle to finish bottom, although I didn't think Berwick would be as poor as they have been. Anyway, anyone know if Swales is still a promoter, and if he is, what does he do.

Horton one panel short of a full air-fence

Berwick 2017 50th Year

Are you going to Workington as according to the BSPA website that's where the meeting is taking place - Derwent Park. Can't the BSPA get anything right! -
There has been a so-called kerb for many years, but it becomes overgrown . Now and again it reappears after a lot of tidying up! It's not really a kerb though as it's level with the shale, but it is concrete kerbstones
-
Cradley!!!! Did you mean Peterborough?

Chris Holder Or Niels K Iversen?
crazyb replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Niels was one of Panthers best team riders, and it's not easy to team ride at Alwalton -
But these "lucrative parties" must work a deal out twelve months in advance, if speedway can't do this then you'll just have to put up with it as it is now and has been for a long time
-
For as many years as I can remember Speedway has never got it's fixtures out before now. If Peterborough gave the Showground dates around the end of the season then they should have a better chance to get first choice of dates. You have to look to twelve months ahead, not a couple of months.
-
No The EoES are still waiting for Panthers
-
You can also get SS in Smiths in Stranraer!
-
He's only part time, comes and goes, like Attwood: circumstances make it like it is, but I still maintain that Ully, who has got some good form, should be good enough for a t/r at any time and against anyone. Unless he didn't want to do it, and I don't believe that. End of story
-
I can add up as well, but it could have made a difference in the last heat with us having a one point lead. Another point that infuriates me is almost always taking 1 and 3 in heat one after winning the toss. A lot of teams go for heat fifteen choice but not Panthers. Even taking 2 and 4 would give the reserves (who aren't the strongest), the better gates in heat two, which is what Brian Clark used to do. A long time ago I know, but worth considering when we have, supposedly, the top rider in the league at number one.
-
Instead of keep changing riders, change the team manager. Why wasn't Ostergaard considered good enough by Johnson to have a tactical ride against Wells. Why wait for Cook in the next heat. Threw a point away. Get the t/r in when you can.

So is Peterborough quick, but get the Fours DVD and watch a great race almost every heat. That's where they should have the big meetings. -

One heat out of fifteen is brilliant, I don't think
