Relegation And Promotion Play Offs
DC2 replied to flagrag's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Musielak's average was no more of a loophole than any other unsigned rider! Other clubs could have signed him, but didn't. He could have ridden poorly, but didn't. Hindsight is quite wonderful at identifying bargain riders and making other fans feel aggrieved! -
Relegation And Promotion Play Offs

Ah, hindsight wisdom, GRW123! Musielak proved a brilliant signing in the end but it was not a certainty. He hadn't ridden in the UK since 2015 when he was signed by Wolves on an assessed 6.5 but dropped to a true finishing average of 4.53. Wolves didn't see enough in him to sign him for 2016 or 2017 and wanted to sell him rather than keep him as an asset. And no other club wanted him in either season! Plus, Swindon were at a disadvantage from the outset because all of Belle Vue's riders had a chance of achieving their starting averages but Doyle could not achieve 13.41! -

You only have to look at those reserves to see the disparity. How can an original 40 point team beat a 50 point team? If Sheffield now have, say, a 46 point team average they should be allowed to swap Wood for a Plus 4 pointer. -
Yep, with all their rubbish assets, Poole are hoping for a 32 point limit!!! . They can get all three Holders then.

Still don't get the Wolves' view on this: how was Bjerre at fault? Freddy caused the crash by trying a sweeping pass and got tangled. Bjerre didn't veer to the right.

Is This Swindon Team The Best Of Recent Times?
DC2 replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Do you know, I think this year's Swindon team in the middle of its seventeen match winning run, with all seven riders fit, would have run the 2007 Swindon dream team close. Not much to choose between Adams and Doyle, and Rico/Ulamek/Gjedde and Morris/Musielak/Bellego, and Moore and Wajknecht would cancel each other out with 2 points each, so it might have come down to Ellis/BWD having good nights over Chrzanowski/Mads. Plus, this year's team showed character and didn't capitulate in the Final! -
Is This Swindon Team The Best Of Recent Times?
DC2 replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
In terms of the ridiculous average for Doyle for team-building, the poor start to the campaign, the fractured fixture list, the seventeen match winning run, the eight away wins, finishing top of the league, beating Poole repeatedly home and away, and coming from behind to win an epic final, I think those factors probably outweigh any other teams' achievements over the last ten years. -
Ah, the missing Freddy and Jacob factor. Yawn. And maybe Swindon would have won the first leg by 12 if the track hadn't been slick or Adam/BWD not riding injured or Tobi not blowing his engine or no tapes offences and fallers or the ref letting good starts go ............... But, as it happened, Swindon won. Plain and simple. And Wolves fans can look forward to future wins with Freddy and Jacob. If only we could with Leigh Adams and Rico.

Premiership Grand Final 1st Leg Swindon V Wolves 02.10.17

Yep, I like Peter Adams. Surprised that Shovy is commenting on hairstyles, even Matt Ford hasn't been able to help with his comb-over -
Premiership Grand Final 1st Leg Swindon V Wolves 02.10.17

OK, he's first loser -
Really? Bjerre was ahead, Lindgren came around him and tried to clamp him but tangled with Bjerre's bike as Bjerre turned. Bjerre had nowhere to go, certainly didn't move off his line and I doubt he even saw what Lindgren was trying to do. Freddy tried a brave and decisive move but it didn't come off and he was at fault.

Thanks, Steve. Bye. -
And you're not anyway?

Good commentators and presenters, but poor director with his choice of camera close ups rather than racing.
-
NomJack Holder for me; not because he won't be a good rider one day, but because he's obviously spreading himself too thinly and the bright lights of Poland, and maybe Sweden, will ruin his UK form.
-
Oh, yes, don't we just love it when loads of Pugwashers turn up to see their team sink! From moneybags favourites at the start of the year to hopeless also-rans. Over and out from mouth of the South. Goodnight, Steve.

Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17
DC2 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
To be fair, BWD was marginally more injured than Screeny at Blunsdon in 2009! Case rests for the defence. -

With Adam Ellis' knock it could be KK guesting. Not sure if that's good or bad? -
No problem with that if we can't afford him, but if fixed race nights stops doubling up clashes it's got to be worth it.

"Choke": (verb, as in "to choke"), used in speedway parlance when Poole reach the play-offs. Frequently seen in a sentence with the words Ford, Muddlo and Shovlar and often followed by a flight to Rome (OED) -
