Problem is, Jack only scores when another rider falls or has EF. He’s really a 0 pointer. We built the team out of a sense of loyalty and for the enjoyment of the fans, rather than in expectation of winning the league.
-
Fair point.
-
Successful team (one season), yes; successful club (many seasons), no.
-
Yes and no. We stayed loyal to Nick Morris who’s been with us longer as we had to choose only one 8 point rider.
-
That’s the problem. You’re judging him on results rather than on whether he’s a Leicester rider through and through. It’s your Poole mentality of taking anyone any year, whether they be journeymen or one season wonders, as long as you win, rather than sticking by riders and building a Poole brand. Swindon picked Leigh Adams every year, you chopped and changed Chris Holder until he gave up on you. Now look what you’re left with, a right rag bag assortment.
-
Really? Check the Swindon thread. No one wanted Nicholls and Auty was suggested unenthusiastically only as a possible replacement for the injured Bellego. Mountain was mentioned to replace Smith but only on the strength of one match and before his average was checked! Leicester are welcome to their journeymen signings. Hopefully Swindon will stand by their team.

Agreed, but there are some good examples of loyalty, Morris at Swindon, Cook and Fricke at Belle Vue and Thorsell at Wolves. All of those clubs have tried to be loyal to a number of riders. That’s the way it should be to establish a brand that can be marketed and followed.
-
Swindon, Belle Vue and Wolves have made no tactical changes. Let’s hope they stick with that and one of them wins the league. Good luck!
-
Which riders are two points below their averages? Bjerre? Any others? The Piesczek was doing well and Sarjeant was riding to his average. Both could have ridden for the club for the next five years, Nicholls and Robson won’t. Clubs should keep riders and invest in them, like companies investing in their staff. Daft.

Yeah, sure. It’s one of the reasons I no longer follow football the way I once did. I can still name the Crystal Palace FC and Swindon speedway teams that I supported when I was a boy, but try as I might now I can’t keep up with Swindon FC. It’s almost a complete change of personnel every couple of seasons with maybe six players every year on loan from other clubs, using Swindon as a stepping stone. It’s rubbish. Sadly speedway’s revolving door has made following some speedway clubs rubbish too.
-
Yes, it’s totally wrong. There should be only two tactical changes. It’s a ridiculous merry go round of riders. Even football has restrictions with transfer windows.

Stick Eurosport on and watch the stunning Tour De France scenery!

Anyone will be an improvement.

"Hi, Matt. News just in that the other six PL clubs have gone bust" "Thanks, I'll take that. It gives us a better chance of winning the title."
-
Blimey, I thought you meant they've signed their 2,019th rider this year!
-
Yes. Don't you think there should be? Even FIFA has "fair play" as a veneer over the ludicrous diving and play acting!
-
I think you’ll find Poole are below us, both in the league table and morally. It is as it will ever be.
-
Can you remember what any of your riders look like?
-
Doh ....... cos of the hot weather!

I’ve never met SCB, but is this him: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5704251/Computer-expert-secretly-filmed-men-women-children-urinating-jailed-nearly-three-years.html Others on here seemed to think so?
-
Oh yes, I mentioned Klindt and Grajczonek being Swindon cast offs but there’s also our assets, Kildemand and Nielsen!
-
What’s happened to Matt Ford Fan? Last time I asked a similar question SCB had been sent to prison.
-
No, that’s coincidence. I hadn’t checked.
-
No, I won’t. I don’t want my club to descend to Poole’s level and if they do I will not support such a move.
