I cancelled BT last year. They offered me £42 for fast fibre internet and BT TV, but I went with Talktalk instead, getting just fast fibre for £19.99. I now watch freeview using the BT TV box that I kept and I can record, pause and fast forward etc as normal. Before BT we had the full Sky package at £82 plus normal broadband at £30 a month!

If there are three more teams next year the points limit might have to be 40! Eight teams and 42.5 seems about right without stretching the quality of rider. Look at Ellis Perks. Lauded as a great trier in the PL this year but still managed only a 3.57 PL average despite being 6.4 in the CL. And this year we had the good sense to require a 3 point minimum achieved average for the PL, so on a 1.6 multiplier that will quite rightly exclude CL riders below 4.8. There’s no way the likes of Anders Rowe (CL 4.38) should be exposed to the PL yet. He’d lose confidence like Jack Smith last year.
-
Anders would be mad to ride in the PL next year, even if he weren’t prevented from doing so by the 3 point minimum average. It would ruin his confidence, like Jack Smith last season. His CL average is only 4.38, whereas Ellis Perks’ is 6.4, and Ellis struggled in the PL this season to average 3.57.
-
No, it doesn’t. It’s calculated against his latest average, which is a PL one.
-
Ellis won’t get a reduction. And you’ve reduced Perks by way more than 2.5%.
-
And then think of it from Eurosport’s point of view, and fans of other sports: speedway will ruin their schedules!
-
It was this season and would make sense looking at the other six teams’ averages.

Pickering and Pieszczek could replace Batchelor and Vissing and fit 42.5. Doyle Pieszczek Ellis Musielak Jensen Pickering Perks
-
But his converted average is 4.36.

Quite spooky that, cos GB v Denmark has reached 47. -
Or Wells Fargo (always rides five laps)?
-
Orson Welles (handicapped by carrying the horse)? Or HG Wells (handicapped by heavy goods)?
-
Their averages are too high.
-
5.72, compared to Morris’ 5.38.

Who are your top five riders in 2019.

Doyle should have achieved a 10 point average in this league, not 8.96. I’ll duck now. -
He just needs practice. He’s had a bad year but he’s an experienced rider and should return to form with the right attitude and support. He’s good value compared to other CL riders. His CL average is 7.05, which gives a converted PL average on a 1.6 rate of 4.40, but, because of his poor PL season, he has an actual PL average of 3.66.
-
Not for me. He sounds dull. Ermolenko is hopeless.
-
And Eurosport Player for your iPad is only £39.99 for the year.
-
Don’t agree. If they do for speedway what they’ve done for cycling they will be brilliant.
-
If the limit is 42.5 again and we have to lose Batchelor & Vissing or Musielak & Vissing: Doyle Ellis Nick Morris Jensen Musielak Perks Jordan Stewart/Josh Bates/Ricky Wells OR Doyle Ricky Wells Ellis Jensen Batchelor Perks Kasper Andersen
-
A “huge bearing”? Doubt it. That’s an exaggeration. Few speedway races at club level involve the degree of aggression that you suggest. Most riders might be determined on the first corner but other than that they’re fairly respectful to each other because everyone knows serious injury could result otherwise and what comes around, goes around. Play offs and GPs understandably involve a bit more, but rarely to a Nicky Pedersen level.
-
Yes, agreed. But otherwise irrelevant as far as a fan is concerned.
-
It makes no difference to me whether Jason Doyle or Ellis Perks also rides elsewhere, whether that be for Somerset in the CL or Wroclaw in Poland or Vetlanda in Sweden, as long as they turn up for Swindon on our race nights. It simply has no effect now that we have protected race nights.
-
Doubling up makes no difference at all.
-
Spot on. The 1.6 conversion rate makes it impossible for Poole to take 7 point PL riders down to the CL so they should be signing the best CL riders now.
