Bjarne was ninth in the Polish third division averages, just below Josh G: https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/polska-2-liga-zuzlowa/statystyki

No, it isn’t. It’s saying we have speedway on a certain day, come along. In the same way that all sporting events choose when they run without consulting Dave.
-
I wasn’t proposing pay to ride. And I assumed PL clubs would cover some expenses of the NL riders, pay an appearance fee, arrange sponsorship and help them with machinery and advice. It’s clear that some 15 year old NL riders are very promising and one would have thought that PL clubs would be delighted to take Palin and the Thompson twins under their wing, just as they would have snapped up Woffinden, Ward and Lambert.
-
Yep, we’ll be gutted to see Poole go. We used to enjoy our away wins.
-
Craig Cook and Hans Andersen would use up nearly 20 points so the remaining five riders would have to be a weak 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, built to 40.
-
Think you’ll find everything’s gone South at Poole.
-
Get out of that one, Noggin!
-
With two extra clubs applying you’ll probably find that the leading promoters have agreed that they do not need to pander to one or two lesser clubs who might want a 38 point limit and instead believe they can insist on a 40 point limit and possibly even get 41. If it’s 41, we might well find Plymouth, Kent and Newcastle underpowered due to insufficient available heatleaders and built to 39.

He’d be 9.26, so it’s doubtful that Poole could fit him in with King (8.67) unless they had three 5 pointers and two low averaged reserves.
-
OK, but I’d like to see NL riders at Swindon on a regular basis and I’d see that as improved value for money and an incentive to go. And it would be better than a four team NL.
-
Good point. I think it will be 4 as he is an American and that is the minimum for them. The BSPA have changed Ricky Wells’ final average for Poole from 3.66 to 4 on the Greensheets page of Speedwaygb.
-
Well, it was just a suggestion because clubs seem to be leaving the NL, and it’s important that young riders have somewhere to start. If it ran as I suggested with four riders per team, there’s no reason why all PL clubs shouldn’t have NL ones, and why the four or five independent NL clubs couldn’t run double headers as home matches. That would accommodate 44 to 48 young riders, compared to the 56 now.
-
Yes, he’s 3.22 PL, an absolute steal due to the mad 1.6 conversion rate.
-
Who’s Nico? Covatti? He has a PL average already.
-
Three heatleaders and a 5.16 reserve, built to 40? 8.5 + 7.5 + 7 + 5.5 + 5.5 + 5.16 + 2 = 41.16
-
But if it’s Colts v Sprockets, as amateurs, over 6 or 8 heats why would there be much extra expense, other than petrol in the tractor?
-
If it’s the rumoured 40 point limit, Poole might as well sign the Sheffield team (39.61) and save money on unnecessary phone calls. King, Sedgmen, Todd Kurtz, Nicol, Howarth, Kennedy, MacDonald. Sorted.
-
21 rather than 25 for me, so the rider that got lucky in the final, scoring 8 + 2 + 3 (13) gets just one more point that the runner up who was on fire but missed the gate in the final, scoring 15 + 3 + 2 (20).

How about the NL meetings taking place with the PL and CL meetings? So, for example, before the PL match between Belle Vue and Swindon there’s an NL match of Colts v Sprockets. The NL teams could comprise just four riders each in eight heats. It might be perceived as better value for money too, depending on the price, give clubs an incentive to crack on and complete both meetings within two hours, and give the NL riders a chance to meet the professional riders and get advice.

Who will the extra ones be next year? Presumably just this year’s top four?
-
They didn’t do him much good this year, did they?
-
Is Jordan Palin ready for Championship speedway?

That’s a good example of why there should not be protected reserves who stay at reserve all season. -
The only problem is that they will not be regulated by averages and go into the main team if they are really good, resulting in some teams with excellent ones having a major advantage.
