  1. Grading is rubbish. Averages are much more accurate.
  2. Must have missed that. Still, guess anyone under 60 and with a few of their own teeth is young in Poole.
  3. Blimey, the Swindon Advertiser must run to 50 pages every night!
  4. Not when compared to Doyle. Doyle is 8.96 here and 9.12 in Poland. Nicki is 8.13 in Poland and by Doyle’s ratio should be 7.99 here, not 8.61.
  5. Yes, he was put back up to a 4 point minimum after “achieving” 3.66. http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/files/downloads/p19_issue_25.pdf
  6. Who’s that? The up and coming teenager, Steve Worrall, or his father, Danny King?
  7. Good point. But Perks on 3.57 is looking like the senior reserve. Maybe Connor Mountain on a 3? Or Stefan on 3.81, if only he could last a season.
  8. Yes, agreed, but to re-build to 42.5 we’re going to have at least one reserve like Jack Smith.
  9. The rules also allow Poole to sign a young Brit.
  10. I assume the 4 point minimum for foreigners is a recent invention? In 2018 Mitchell Davey signed for Swindon on 2.51 and in 2016 Klindt signed for Leicester on 3.53. And it appears that they can go below 4 mid-season because Wells went down to 3.66 for Poole.
  11. You may be right for other clubs, but for Swindon he should have been selected ahead of Batch IMO.
  12. Who said Matt’s lost interest in team building?
  13. I make it 3.25 unless he gets the 2.5% discount? Nielsen should be on a converted 3 as although we signed him on 3.81 this year he didn’t complete a race in the PL.
  14. Big mistake for me signing Troy, because a) we need to drop four points from the team and he was the obvious start; b) he’s not likely to improve on his average; c) Rasmus is the likely victim despite averaging almost the same as Troy at home and saving us almost a point on team building in comparison; d) Rasmus is the more likely to improve, especially away. Troy’s average 8.75 (home 9.08, away 8.41) Rasmus’ average 7.86 (home 9.04, away 6.54) Rosco frequently makes the wrong call with team building and he’s done it again, although it’s possibly down to Batch being cheaper regarding flights. Musielak is still on an attractive average and a must for me, so I hope he doesn’t join Rasmus in the cost cutter bin.
  15. Carry on clinging to Poole’s claim to fame: “If only we’d had Shanes and Perks instead of Holder and Kurtz”.
  16. Not really, he’s never actually ridden for your mob.
  17. Oi, don’t be scrounging from The Champions.
  18. The rent would need to be renegotiated.
  19. Nice Aussie and Danish combo. Like that.
  20. Hope so. Just checked Dan Bewley’s first year in 2016. He rode for BV in the NL and Edinburgh in the “CL” (the “Premier League” as was) improving in the season from 3 to 8.65 in the NL and from 3 to 4 in the CL.
  21. Nah, I started it for Poole fans who didn’t have tickets to Rome but I’ll have to keep it open for those who haven’t come back yet. One seems to have been ordained and taken a vow of silence.
  22. I think the last “natural” was Drew Kemp and he was dropped by Sheffield. I would rather see them have another season in the NL to give them more experience and hit 8 point averages to show that they are ready to step up. Nevertheless, good luck to the Thompsons.
