You don’t even need a good PR man.
Local papers and their websites are desperate for news every day.
Twice a week the Swindon Advertiser is so desperate it has a top ten “most read” filler of “Swindon’s top cafes/restaurants/bars/music venues/places to get a cup of tea ... as voted for by readers”. They print nonsense for the sake of it.
Quite why Anders Rowe buying six new engines has not made the front page I don’t know. He could have “released” one engine every other day and been the best serial they’ve had for ages.
Just as well Watergate wasn’t in Swindon!
I’m a Swindon fan, stating my view.
I’m trying to be objective.
If better choices regarding team building occur to me I’ll point them out.
Forums are for good mannered discussion, not towing the party line.
Look at Claus Vissing, an 8.43 CL rider, who rode ten matches for Swindon, seven at home, and still ended up with only a 3.4 average for this year.
And Ryan Douglas, an 8.31 CL rider and everyone’s favourite, but he achieved only 4.66 from 15 matches for Wolves.
Perks was the best of our three on 6.4 CL.
Hmmm.
Perks achieved only 3.57 in the PL this year and Stewart and Rowe were well below him in the CL so your expectations may be high.
All three will need much better equipment and they will do well to average 3 Rowe, 4.5 Stewart and 4.5 Perks.
Swindon’s 2020 starting team is probably on a par with the 2019 starting team:
Doyle. Doyle
Stewart. Lampart
Jensen. Musielak
Ellis. Ellis
Batchelor Batchelor
Perks Wajtknecht
Rowe. Shanes
Andersen and Harris as second strings would be spot on signings.
As would Tungate as the third heatleader.
It’s just getting the top two that is the problem. Iversen and Bjerre or Bech would be acceptable.
Crazy, isn’t it, people moaning about Ostergaard when he might be up against the likes of Nicol, Rowe, Perks, Stewart, Etheridge, Kerr, Proctor, Ashley Morris and Todd Kurtz.
He’s done nothing in Australia to suggest he’s a 7 pointer.
Even Sedgmen regularly beats all of the emerging Aussies and he’s only a 5.2 point CL rider.
To be fair, he’s just finished fourth today in the NSW Championship behind Holder, Holder and Pickering, so fair enough.
