Really? Didn’t Rosco say Tobi was available to ride next year if picked? Let’s see how Wells does next year compared to Rowe, Perks and Stewart. And whether Tobi does actually ride in the UK.
-
Keep up, Sidney, PK was a bit “Ricky Wells” this year.
-
Poole were once great (at least in their own minds). But now they are just hanging by a thread.
-
In what year will Becker and Nicol be at the level of Holder & Ward or Doyle & Batchelor? 2024? Poole struggled to keep Holder & Ward together, or even one of them, and Batchelor, a non-asset, has been in the Swindon team more often than Doyle, who has had only two seasons at the top of his game for Swindon. Morris was the big asset that Swindon invested in and showed loyalty to and look where he is now. ”Investing” in Nicol now means nothing for the future. And indeed have Wolves actually invested in him and bought him from Sheffield or are they just bringing him on for Sheffield to benefit in 2021?
-
Yeah, but you don’t know Flint’s real Christian name: Skin.
-
Spot on. Quite why some fans think Swindon were and are invincible I’ll never know.
-
You lot can’t afford it any more. Stick to your own little patch.
-
My side has not got enough definite heat winners? So you don’t think Doyle, Jensen, Ellis and Musielak would win heats or Proctor/Pickering and Stewart at reserve? You do say some daft things.
-
Pickering in the top 5, too much pressure? But Stewart in the top 5 isn’t? Pickering is 6.98 CL, Stewart is 5.74. And Proctor 6.84 CL at reserve would undoubtedly increase his 4.43 PL average and quite probably put Pickering at reserve early in the season. I don’t think you quite realise how many last places Rowe, Perks and Stewart are facing.
-
Pete Adams sees Nicholls as on his way down and Nicol as on his way up. None of us disagrees. But with Nicholls on 8.35 CL and Nicol on 5.16, it doesn’t suggest that Broc will overtake Scott next year.
-
Musielak.
-
A more balanced team would have been: Doyle Pickering Ellis Musielak Jensen Stewart Proctor Pickering and Stewart would have been great investments for the future.
-
Spot on. A case of we won’t officially find Poole guilty of cheating, we’ll just make sure they can’t win it.
-
Think we can settle this once and for all. Karol Baran.
-
Not quite getting this. How does being two points under the limit help individual riders to increase their averages? And if they collectively put on two points and increase to 42.5 Woffinden and Lindgren could only come in on a like for like basis to replace the top two riders (Masters or Thorssell) if they had increased their averages to 9.5. Are you really suggesting that Wolves would sack Masters or Thorssell if they put 2 points each on their averages?
-
Yep, just me ... ..oh, and Leigh Adams .... oh, and everyone else who was there and everyone else involved in speedway.
-
The fact that Poole were investigated by the BSPA on that occasion and that the allegation was found “unproven” by the closed, smoke filled room of the BSPA, rather than them being declared innocent spoke volumes. We who were there saw what happened, whether the BSPA wished to admit it or not.
-
Don’t you bet on it. They’ll be doing it already, signing their team!
-
Was that BWitcher’s point rather than mine? I have no problem with signing Nicol as one for the future but falling 2 points short in team building is plain stupid.
-
No, it’s not flawed. If you have 7 points to play with why not sign a 7 pointer with potential rather than a 5 pointer? You’re 2 points up from the start!
-
But stopping a fit rider from riding and making another rider pretend to have engine failures is not “loopholes”, it’s CHEATING. The CHEATING Poole Pirates. CL, you’ve been warned.
-
Stevebrum, lisacolette, foreverblue, Scottyfan and Gavan over this thread like a rash. Hang on, I can see the value in keeping this going.
-
Ah, that reminds me of the fit Joe Screen ordered by Matt to sit in the stands at the Abbey ten years ago and Bjarne having unfortunate engine failures just so Poole could reduce their team average and get a better rider in. 2009, what a vintage year for cheating that was.
-
Oh, not the “can’t ride our track” argument! Yawn. I recall Peter Karlsson saying how fast Klindt was around Monmore and do you really think the others wouldn’t dial in after a handful of matches?
-
Rob Grant stretching it a bit on the BSPA site saying that all three of the new signings should increase their averages! Claus Vissing definitely won’t, facing heats 1, 13 and 15 home and away. He’s 8.43 atm. 7.43 would be a success for him.
