  1. Yeah, but we’re all still grieving ......... no more Matt Ford Matt Ford Fan Skidder1 Lisa-Colette Shovlar or the slim shady lady Shaman, Starman How will we manage?
  2. If Newcastle are: Vissing Clegg Smetana Skorja Wethers Wright Mountain Sorry, but that’s like six reserves, so unless they settle immediately, surprise everyone and ride out of their skins, it’s gotta be bottom.
  3. Skorja, GP rider: http://speedwayu21.com/en/rider/391/skorja--98-nick.html
  4. ...... and teamwurst. But best wishes anyway.
  5. Ondrej Smetana James Anderton Nick Skorja Rik Jackson
  6. King, Nielsen, Worrall, Bjerre, Ellis, MacDonald & Bowtell. Nielsen and Bjerre should add a point each. Right up there with Redcar and Leicester.
  7. Brennan and Kemp in for Wood and Bowtell. They lost two home matches this year and got only three points away, not once losing by six or less. All seven need to improve.
  8. Only if they turn up on Queensland time, twelve hours early.
  9. So do I, but you’ll spin it!
  10. Now it’s just a wild guess, but might this this be the first line in your first match report in 2020: ”Just back and what a thrilling experience that was, far superior to the PL, with much closer racing ......... “
  11. If that team had ridden here this year I’d guess their averages: Drabik 8 Lambert 8 Hampel 7 Musielak 6.5 Woryna 6 Lahti 5.5 Thornblom 4.5 Total 45.5, below Swindon’s 46.34.
  12. Possibly. Just taking a 2020 team at random, Lejonen’s best riders are: Robert Lambert Maksym Drabik Matthias Thörnblom Jarek Hampel Tobiasz Musielak Timo Lahti Kacper Woryna That is no better than Belle Vue, Sheffield or Swindon in our PL. On the one hand you could argue that Adam Ellis would benefit from the experience of being in such a squad, but on the other hand he would not be guaranteed a place in every match and he might as well therefore ride for Poole in the CL and focus on the PL and the European and World individual events.
  13. Agreed. There are clear differences between the NL riders, including Stoneman, Palin and the Thompsons, all on 2.
  14. Spot on. Throughout the season up to August Swindon were still struggling to make the top four and looking poor away. Everyone seems to forget that since they picked up in September.
  15. Hume wouldn’t fit if Poole sign Lesser Bjerre But he would if they went for the better choice of Jonas Jeppesen (or Joel Andersson or Nike Lunna, If he’s still riding).
  16. Really? What’s the average of the fifth rider?
  17. Better value than Alfie and on similar averages. Ryan Kinsley would be too.
  18. Outside the top 30 in the Ekstraliga, who are “the very best riders”? I doubt that riding in the lower Polish divisions, Sweden or Denmark much improves any rider beyond a PL/CL combo. If Adam Ellis can get the very best engines and get himself noticed in some of the World events he might get a crack at Ekstraliga, regardless of not having spent much time on the continent.
  19. And what difference does that make? In fact it’s rather stupid, limiting the club’s choices.
