Which Rider Is On The Best Value Average
DC2 replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Garrity to put on 2 points. He looked very tenacious in the GB champs & if he's recovered from injury he'll do well against his draft opponents! -
We'd have only 6.13 to replace Nick so no Zengota (6.15) or Skornicki (6.14) unless we get special dispensation. Otherwise it's Leon Madsen 6.10 or Lukas Dryml 5.7 or two changes! Frankly I'd keep PK & make four changes!
-
"irregardless" ?????
-
Zengota or Skornicki could replace him.
-
Spot on Crazy Robin regarding Birks who has an actual EL average of 3.06 but was not included whereas the other three's converted averages are more! Kerr 3.65 (or 3.56 with discount) Garrity 3.27 (3.19) Newman 3.19 (3.11) Either of the bottom two would have been ideal for Poole in the 1 to 5 if they sign KK (assuming KK is actually 7.97 rather than 8.51) & Kerr could have replaced Porsing at KL if they truly wanted to support Brits & Newman at Belle Vue.
-
Kerr, Garrity & Newman should not have been included in the draft. They made it unfair. And we can already see from the teams to date that they would have stood a chance of being included in the 1 to 5 of some teams; Belle Vue & Kings Lynn, for example.
-
It's not a question of recklessly spending money, ER; I was just looking at the options. If we could get MJJ or Kolodziej on our terms surely we should?
-
6.51
-
Agreed, no way would I have Ashley back straight away. Nick Morris is worth the investment but he isn't a heatleader yet & he takes up too many points for a second string, so our choices are limited: We're left with MJJ/Kolodziej/Ulamek/Zengota/Skornicki & Doolan (3) OR Gustaffson & Ostergaard/Klindt/Bjerre/Mellgren Shame we didn't go with Hans, Zagar or Hancock with PK & Troy & Kozza Smith & Doolan (cheap on 3.76 & 3).
-
Might have to name Kozza instead of Lambert initially. And Pedersen would be better than Bjerre!
-
Or Kolodziej
-
Michael Jepsen Jensen & Kevin Doolan would be best!!!

"Everytime" ??? Even in the 2012 play off final ???? bwahahahahahahah lol Thank the lord PK's back. The most exciting rider in the league!

League winners!

Why did Swindon choose Bates over Jacobs???????

Too late to harp on now but the scheme is badly flawed. Garrity & Newman are well above NL standard & neither rode in it this year so neither should be included. Kerr is a borderline case but with a 6.09 point PL average & a real possibility of a top five rider team place in the EL he should have been excluded. If Swindon were to go with Kildemand, Morris, Doyle & Schlein, Kerr on 3.56 with Brit discount would have fitted nicely inside the 3.71 remaining! A level playing field should have seen NL riders only (with a sub-5 PL average), no protected assets for the first year & the first picks order drawn by lot. All teams start with a 32 limit so there's no justification in 2013 league position determining first pick order. The scheme could then be continued in 2015 with all riders again eligible for reserve births on a 1-20 grading basis (plus 2014 NL breakthrough riders) & with Ellis & Morris protected for Lakeside & Wolves. If only it had been FAIR, with no vested interests, everyone would have got behind this scheme!!
-
The fairest thing would be to give the clubs who choose their protected riders last picks in the "second round" (whether it be according to 2013 league position or, fairer, the PL average of the rider selected) & if their protected rider is an A category they should be restricted to a C category in the second pick (so if Kings Lynn choose Kerr they should be last second time around & restricted to a C category rider). Presumably the A category riders will be Kerr, Garrity & Newman & the Bs Nielsen, Ellis, R Lambert, Wright, Blackbird & Morris? Will Coventry do the decent thing & pick Jacobs or go for Garrity? Swindon's first pick looks like Blackbird, Nielsen or Wright.

No Chris Holder In 2014 In British League.
DC2 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agreed. Because riders should not think themselves bigger than the system. Saying you'll ride for only one club on your terms & having a promoter that will indulge you is detrimental to the other clubs. Poole could ring-fence a number of riders in this way. They did so with KK in 2012 & Matt Ford has tried to promote the squad system so he can keep Ward & Holder. How can equalisation ever work if clubs do this? -

DC2 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If Holder is offered a starting place by any other EL team & refuses he should not be allowed back into the Poole team later in the year under any circumstances. -
Kildemand, Dyer/Porsing, Doyle, Morris, Korneliussen Birks could be one of the reserves
-
Just as well.

Oh balls I missed out on "The Year That Ended in 12" - got any copies left?????
-
Quite right: they should stick to the rules & allow Swindon to sign Batch on Friday ON LOAN D'ya know, as much as I find Stevebrum totally boring it's just not right to call anyone an absolute tool.

That's ironic, it sounds like Steady at Swindon! Hopeless away!
