Did Workington get money for Kildemand, then?
-
Maybe they'll link up with the less-demanding Northern Junior League instead?

Last few posts on the wrong thread -- BenFund has its own one. But full marks to Hans!

I like the way Swindon fans are blaming Peterborough for not only Troy Batchelor's possible unavailability, but Nick Morris as well. Isn't the root cause just a little closer to home?
-
Right now, Nick Morris is available to any club, in either league, with the money to buy him. He has no affiliation to Swindon, and Glasgow's former owners have made that very clear. The rider is technically the (new) Glasgow promotion's asset, but their team is complete and he would want to ride at EL level to further his very promising career, anyway. It is fairly well known within speedway who have the handskakes which can be trusted.

Yes, they are a professional promotion, and Tully may well attract a few extra spectators. Which is what it is all about.

Edinburgh Champions 2013 ? 😄

Is this happening? Only person who seems to know about it is Blobby, hence his one-man-campaign to reverse it! -
Very astute observation, Lulu.

It is a circuit, son. They come back towards you just the same. -

When the gate was moved, was it not because the officials' box wasn't in line with the tapes? Was there not a regulation brought in to say referee had to be directly in line? If this is true (and it is only on here I've seen it) then will a new referees' box now have to be installed on the roof of the shed? -
We should remember Dick did both Glasgow and Berwick very acceptably for the best part of twenty years! Before Michael had even been to a speedway meeting. However it seems clear from his own earlier statements to friends, and the Tigers indicating a brand-new approach, he will be a background advisor to the promotion on certain aspects of their venture, not taking an active role.

Dick Barrie was at the Marriot on Saturday night, deep in conversation with promotion. I'm told he has made a radical suggestion re meeting presentation which would, if successful, certainly freshen things up.

Planning a quiet summer, then?

Above three posts are sensible and to be applauded. On one point, it has to be assumed that virtually every available GP and/or ex-GP rider who might have been expected to support the BenFund will have been invited. Let's fill the north's only FIM-approved venue for (as Lulu said above) the best of good causes!

Meanwhile, back at Owlerton..............

Will there be Glasgow riders at the Marriott on Saturday?

Tragic news this morning. Slovenian Matija Duh seems to be in an awfully bad way after last night's accident.

Looks like the Argentinian Tiger is doing OK at home. Current scoring in their International Championship after eight rounds: 1-Nicolas Covatti 167pts 2-Facundo Albin 106 pts 3-Lisandro Husman 106pts 4-Mariusz Fierlej (Poland) 102pts 5-Matija Duh (Slovenia) 97pts 6-Jonathan Iturre 97pts 7-Gino Franchetti (Italy) 92pts 8-Matej Kus (Czech Republic) 84pts 9-Alejandro Ruiz 63pts 10-Fernando Garcia 43pts 11-Norbert Magosi (Hungary) 41pts 12-Julio Romano 37pts Given that the leader, Covatti, has two years' experience in Europe (GP Wildcard even!) and scored well enough in the Elite League, it seems that Facundo -- who has beaten him a few times this winter -- might just be a decent scorer for Sheffield.

Which confirms that you're a twit (check spelling) and know nowt

One thing's for sure. Ricky Wells will come a lot cheaper than the oft-mentioned Claes Nedermark, who seems to think he's worth the kind of money Nikki Pedersen could command!
