Well, wasn't it you who went to the rugby, but got panicky when they had a scrum and you thought they were all taking about you? -
Bandits Back To Berrington?

Yes, late with the joke, but why should geography come into it? Inverness is closer to Edinburgh than every UK track except Berwick and Glasgow! Cue Little Englanders..... -
Speedway Star Toothless Pussycat
freddyfivetoes replied to robolots's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Back on subject: Last week's issue of the Star gives an excellent summary by Peter Oakes on the FIM v OneSport affair, two stories on Sayfutdinov and Pedersen's issues because of the fight. No punches pulled there, just good straightforward journalism. Also an interesting feature (Oakes again) on David Hemsley, the opinionated Down Under column provoked smiles as usual but is by no means toothless and, best of all, a really good history on Ken Le Breton who was from before my time, which was marvellously informative. So, a good and worthwhile read. Well worth my money. -
New promotion is doing well to whip up interest. They missed a huge trick in not bringing Facu Albin back, though. Hopefully he might yet be their first change, if things don't go well on track.

Berwick's Newsletter is a great idea.

Today's Speedway Star names Kozza Smith as another of the affected riders. First time I've heard his name in the frame. Are there any more surprises out there?

Don't think Joey Ringwood could, or would hold out for extra money. Last season a very reliable source advised me both Harley Horwood and Joey were getting considerably less per point than other riders in the same position. Even if he asked Tigers for a little bit more, he'd still be a very inexpensive signing. Amazed if he isn't nailed on to re-sign. There certainly won't be a cheaper option for the club out there.

I guess the Bandits folk on here are pretty pleased with their team and promotion this time, as they are reduced to complaining about the announcer. For those who wanted Vaclav Millik to sign up, I see it took the richest club in the country to lure him to England. Bandits are too well run these days to get involved in paying out for pigs in pokes like young Berge and Millik, both of who might well be World Champions-elect but right now are demanding too much for a low-budget, minor-market club.

... and the answer to your question is: Who gives a fluck?

He's only 22. Hardly washed-up. If he can settle into an adult lifestyle, there is every chance his early talent could re-emerge and he could indeed become one of the league's top riders.

Only Doolan. Kauko and Karlsson will be based overseas, and if Berwick are going to re-sign their asset Seb Alden, one of those is enough.
