Batchelor showed something different this year. He was shocking during the first 10 weeks of the season but came back fighting and showing class at home and away. Furthermore, he even team rode on occasions. Perhaps showing a bit of maturity. Sure, he is a feisty character, but when he's in the mood he's superb to watch. Alden can't be put in the same bracket. His average for Berwick wasn't particularly good. He was inconsistent for them mid season before eventually coming good for them. I have been waiting years for him to do something. Don't get me wrong, he did a fine job for us, but i just don't have that much faith in him delivering over a full season.
-
Alden is an enigma orion. I am not convinced by him. Yes he did well for us in 5 matches but a whole season as a full timer? Not for me. Gomolski will do the business for us mark my words. Birks will do ok too. As long as he wins the odd heat two, which i am sure he will, our reserves will be fine.

Is that going to give you sleepless nights now KKS? Chill man chill.....

Agreed gents..Lynn, Peterborough, Monmore, Oak Tree Arena...all enjoyable trips. By the way, i am sure you have realised by now who the 'new' Wolves fan is.....

King's Lynn Stars 2013
EnglishRoundabout replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He passed plenty of times from the back at Swindon. -
Easily pleased then? That's a good looking side at the EOES for sure, but once again very vulnerable away from home. Norbert in the main body of the side? Fisher as third heat leader? Much pressure on the returning Bjerre from a nasty injury and on Sunstrom to continue his quick rise in average and development. That side wouldn't be top 4 in my opinion.
-
Tidy side indeed, but same problem as last year...and the year before.....no away wins.....
-
Fully agree with Sidney and GRW123. Ed will add so many more dimensions to our side. As previously stated, it is so useful to have a small track expert in your team and Kennett is definitely that. I have read elsewhere that he can't ride the big tracks though. Apart from last season when he was ordinary at Blunsdon, he has always gone well at the Abbey. I predict he will be back up to a 7 point average at least by the end of the season. Just a thought, i wonder where the team building options will go if either Hans or Batch is not available?
-
l I have no doubts that Ed is a fine signing Yer ropes. Agreed about Batch....watching him team ride last year was a bit of a novelty, but enjoyable all the same.
-
But surely last seasons starting 7 looked slightly vulnerable? Morris at number two alongside number one Batch? Decidedly risky. First full season at the difficult number two position... Steady at third heat leader position? Again risky. Many had already said he was on the downward spiral and the previous season was annus horrilbus... Doyley in the main team? Had always struggled in the main team at Poole Hans Andersen...first full year using the new silencers and coming back from an injury plagued season...was he finished, was he past it? Kildermand at reserve? Yes looked a good banker, but you never know. Rene Bach looked a good reserve for Peterborough but didn't deliver. Robin Aspegren? Unknown at this standard. This year, i am much more comfortable at what we have on paper. Hans, (if signed) i am confident he will sustain last years average. Nick Morris, he will continue to develop nicely. PK, sustain his average, Kennett will improve, Batch. (if signed) to maintain. Kasper looking good to put a point on his and Ash to maintain his. Another winning team more importantly. Just what the new sponsorship want to see. Play offs beckon.

Probably as well as the what i would prefer to call them 'former Swindon riders' will do Gemini. Stick a point on their averages!
-
Where have you seen that Orbiter? Or as KKS once said, 'where's your sauce?'
-
Who was the last rider to 'cut back' at Brandon? Martin Ashby against Ray Wilson in the British Final in 1975 wasn't it? Eddie needs a track to race on not a gaters paradise. Funny how he becomes a cheat again now you have discarded him.
-
I can see you in pink Keef....very fetching.... coombers...Kennett is always a middle order rider..six and a half to seven points per match. He's a good replacement for Steady. Firstly because he is younger, secondly because he rides Blunsdon well, thirdly because he is decent on away tracks, including the smaller bowls at Lakeside, Eastbourne, BelleVue and Wolverhampton and finally because he had a poor season last year and needs an arm 'around his shoulder'....Rosco has the proven ability to get the best out of most riders....Eddie will do the business next season if he signs for us.
-
Almost John Betjemanesque yerropes.....
-
Agreed Shocks. This is Eddies big year. Like anyone, he needs a sense of security and an arm around his shoulder when things aren't going quite right. The stick he got on here from Coventry fans last season was terrible. Moreover, the stick he got from Coventry fans overlooking the pits at Brandon was even worse. If it happens, then i for one will be pleased. Rosco may have to look closely at the pairings though. Kennett and Kildermand riding together? Not sure about that. Both chasing the same bit of shale!

What's happened to Custer Mouse? At least with him you guys would have reached 10 posts about your 2013 team by now!

Wolverhampton 2013

Both 'hair raising' riders i have to say and very exciting to watch. They would both run out of room at Monmore though! -

Quite agree semion. Even as a Swindon fan i absolutely love watching speedway at Alwarton and Lynn. Two superb racing tracks. Having said that, i have seen some great racing on smaller tracks such as Plymouth and Monmore Green. -
I guess i will be in the minority on here, but i would welcome Kennett's signing if true. I remember him guesting for the Robins in 2007 as a teenager. He tried his heart out and scored a few points as well as falling a few times. The great Leigh Adams nursed him around for a victory i recall. Since then Eddie's career has stalled somewhat, and has been tainted with his 'escopades' in 2010. Last year was a disappointment and he received plenty of stick on here from Bee's fans. However, i believe he needs to be under Rosco's wing and to be in an environment where he can thrive again. Eddie can ride Blunsdon really well, and the time is right for him to move to new club. I see him as a good number 4 in the engine room of the side. He has the potential i reckon, to become a 7 point rider again.

Where's that from SGP?
-
No chance. Too inconsistent.

All good things come to an end....

So a team that resembles this: 1. Andersen 2. Morris 3. Kildermand 4. Janowski 5. Batchelor 6. Gomolski 7. Birks. Happy days.....
