  1. Great to see our captain back again. Without the pressure of the GP's this season, Hans will hopefully stick half a point on last years average. A great leader and motivator of the team. Welcome back Hansi!
  2. In my opinion, watching high class riders on any track is worth the admission money. Nikki Pedersen turning on a sixpence at Eastbourne, Leigh Adams in total control at Lakeside, in previous years, Mauger at Exeter, Collins at the old BelleVue. Even Ben Barker at the St Boniface Arena was mustard to watch on their tiny circuit. The different shapes and sizes of British tracks make it so unique compared to the relatively similar tracks in Sweden and Poland.
  3. 1. Martin Ashby 2. Geoff Bouchard 3. Jan Andersson 4. Bob Kilby 5. Leigh Adams 6. Norman Hunter 7. Clive Hitch Thats more of a favourite team...Norman Hunter at reserve could at least lift share with Geoff Bouchard, (like the old days!!)....Hitchy for his 'dive bombing' up the inside....(how often is that seen at Blunsdon nowadays) Kilby for his gating (even though he never moved at the start, he would be pulled back by the ref everytime these days...anticipation is punished) Not sure what happened to my font half way through!
  4. Not a bad shout, although would prefer Batch. Jonas is excellent at Blunsdon however, and obviously good around the tight tracks too.
  5. PL Clubs come first, although could be some discretion if the matches are challenges.
  6. Fair argument Crumpie. Must admit as far as aggression goes, its been many years since i have seen such aggression from a Swindon rider, especially coming off turn two. In relation to team riding, Leigh Adams was simply brilliant at it. Not over rated in my book...the amount of points gained by this 'ancient art' by Adams over a season was remarkable. When you see it in the flesh week in week out, much as you saw the aggression from Andersen, you then realise what a bonus it is to the team. Since Adams has gone, nothing of the like has been seen. All very sad.
  7. Agreed that both tracks produce brilliant racing, but Panthers in the play offs? You guys have got to start winning away...your side has once again been constructed to win at home.....only....
  8. Disagree with you guys. Andersen is brilliant to watch. He is aggressive where it matters most, looks for his team mates, and is a real team man. He rides all the Elite league tracks consistently well. I would have Hans before Bjerre anytime. Kenneth is without doubt a talented rider, but i need convincing when it comes to him being firstly a team man, and secondly, when it really matters, he does seem to go missing. When on form he is real fast granted. I have however, never seen him team ride. Furthermore i have seen him 'bullied' on many occasions going into the first turn. Leigh Adams did this to him on many occasions at Blunsdon. Bjerre to finish on a higher average than Andersen? No way. I have already got a wager with Fourentee on Eastbourne going unbeaten at home this season, anyone up for a bet (proceeds to the Ben fund) that Hans finishes on a higher average than Kenneth?
  9. As per Eastbourne, Wolves will take some beating at home i reckon. Lingren, Woffinden, Skornicki Wells and Proctor have got Monmore sussed, and Masters is a good signing in my opinion. An improvement on last season, but mid table for the Old Gold boys.
  10. Blu, you are on here frequently...its like the old days.....
  11. There were still the usual two or three riders pull out in 2011 though Crazy robin. Must admit i do arrive at the stadium wondering just how many of the line up will 'have the flu'.....
  12. I have to agree that this is a solid side, but it also does have weak links. Inconsistency will be a problem i reckon. Exciting team to watch for sure, especially on the road, but prone to some home defeats. That said, top four alongside Birmingham, Poole and Swindon.
  13. The racing was pretty good in 2012 in the final at Blunsdon, but in my opinion it was much better in 2011.
  14. Fans from Plymouth will tell you they witness fantastic racing at their place week in week out.
  15. KKS used to bang on about Lakeside being a 'trick track'......great riders can ride all shapes and sizes. Watching the great Leigh Adams at Lakeside was majestic in itself.
  16. Is that well known German speedway rider Rick Enbacker on the guitar forum Kester?
  17. Lets hope your 'top club' improve on your attendances over the last few years then...around 700 last year so Mr Frost said....
  18. Decent performance by Batch in the Aussie Championships. Not the strongest field, but as they say, you can only beat what is in front of you. Anyway, good to have a winning habit. Has Dakota North been signed by an Elite league side?
  19. Only teasing, but based on his record over the last two seasons especially, you are right. Probably a good idea that he misses the Lynn matches at Blunsdon. Its bad enough with what Mads does every time he returns with whatever club he rides for!!
  20. Hampel? Lindback? Maybe Jonsson or even the Zagarmeister? Just throwing names into the mix, i appreciate they are all unlikely.
  21. Thats 9 more than the amount of Panthers fans at Blunsdon last season...and that one fan was Tigertas....who is on loan to the Robins whilst Hans is riding for us!
  22. Good to see a reasonable performance from Edward Kennett in America amongst a pretty good line up. I am really looking forward to seeing him in Robins colours this season. I reckon he can comfortably get back to being a 7 point rider. I think Rosco needs to be careful with the pairings this year (assuming of course we eventually sign Hans and Batch...i have to say the ongoing saga is boring me now). Eddie and Peter Kildermand together for example might be problematic. I would be tempted to put Hans and Eddie together and Batch and Nick Morris. Any thoughts?
