Your team will be a good watch this year Crumpie, especially at Blunsdon. Pretty much all of the 2013 Panthers side have scored heavily at the Abbey in previous seasons, most notably, Sundstrom, Norbert and Hougaard. Looking forward to the meetings between the two clubs. Batch and Hans owe us a decent performance at your place too!

Yerropes 'me ol mucker' i do remember your comments now about Batch and his team riding skills...(now the Stella has worn off!!) A couple of times i recall...once with our adopted Pole, another with young Nick. Still needs to do more though. I wonder just how many points the master of team riding obtained for the Robins over a season? Hopefully as he matures, so will his skills...communication skills too! Yerropes is as passionate as the rest of us Sid, no worries there. He's just grumpy from time to time.....

Where did you used to stand Sidders? -
Think you are right Sid. I forget that Batch is still a young guy at 25 (i think) Not yet at his prime and just needs some stability and the Rosco 'consoling' arm around him when required. He will arrive a more confident rider this year after securing the Aussie Championship. A super achievement despite the poorish field. In full flight he is mustard to watch. I would like him to acquire some team riding skills this year as he will be riding with the two reserves (certainly initially anyway). His normal 'head down and go' style needs to change this year. Great to have him back. Batch owes us a good performance at Peterborough too. I am sure the Boro fans will 'welcome' him back.....

The Start Of The Decline

My first season was 72 Keef. The Briggs, Ashby, Keen Hitch, Munday, Broadbank side. I recall a second halfer called Clark Facey! -
True enough blu. Good times to be a Swindonian though. Maybe even Shov will vouch for that!!
-
What's that got to do with it? I come from Swindon!

Batch or Hans for the number one spot? Last season was a bit of a formality, not sure this year. Well done Patch in securing Batch for this season.

The grass banks were pretty useful for me Keefers. Used to meet up with a girl from Chippenham every Saturday night. They came in handy then! Saturday night racing, the old 13 heat format, and the tactical ride after being six points down....the good old days! The back straight bogs remain exactly the same as they were in the 70's....I took a friend to a meeting last season and had a couple of beers whilst waiting for the match to start. He went off to use the infamous toilets and i warned him about their reputation. Minutes later he returned covered in mud!! I asked him what had happened and he said he had fallen down the grass bank next to the toilets.....how i laughed...Didn't put him off too much though..he is a new fan! -
Whilst Iknow this is slightly off topic, but can someone tell me why this type of post is allowed? Furthermore, it is still featured and has not been withdrawn. I thought this forum had certain rules about attacking posts and not posters? Welcome back Batch. Lets finally start talking about speedway again.

I was going to mention that too. KKS has finally learnt in what context to use 'their' and 'there'. His sauces must have improved and he now knows his onions....

Watched him a few times at Smallmead too remembertheracers. He was superb there when in full flight. When he arrived at Blunsdon i recall a few tentative meetings before he really took off. I would say one of the most spectacular riders i have seen ride the Abbey. Brilliant partnership with Leigh Adams. On the flip side with Matej though, i saw him ride appallingly at Wolverhampton for the Robins when he just 'didn't fancy it'. After winning his first ride, he came up against Freddie Lingren in heat 6 who despatched him unceremoniously after initially leading the race for two laps. After that he was just not interested. Scored 4 points that night i think. I reckon Zagar will average around 8 points this season, but Aces fans will be in for a mixed bag for sure. Certainly looking forward to his visit....if the track is grippy i can see 15 points or more for him!

Dr John....now your'e talking!! Great stuff. Mads is always a good watch at Blunsdon. Seems to deliver nowadays, was so frustrating when he rode for us though. Happy with the team this year. No season ticket for me this year though, work will get in the way on occasions. See you up there!

Shall we have our own thread yerropes, and call it something like Swindon 2013?
-
Larsen at five? That would put huge pressure on his shoulders. I would think Norbert would be back in the reserve berth before too long. Hougaard i am sure will make a better number two or number four.

How refreshing ORLOVSKI....a different topic!!

Some people have different ways of seeking attention....

Agreed Sarge...dunno the answers but can't see Batch signing for the Aces. He is a winner and will want to be in a winning side. Signing for Bellevue would be a massive backward step for him, and very unlikely he would increase his average in a losing team. Having said that, i do hope they are assemble a decent side for 2013.

Wolverhampton 2013
EnglishRoundabout replied to HasseHolmqvist's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well they barely sell it at the home of Mild (Monmore) so i normally sink a jar of it at a boozer round the corner to the stadium. As for your neck of the woods Fourentee, assuming your a Lynn fan (but i may be wide of the mark) not much sign of Mild in Norfolk? -
Bored with it long ago Crazy Robin....i am sure there are plans for whatever scenario arises. Preferably Batch would be back in the number 5 position, but whatever will be will be...can't be arsed with getting involved in the 'sniping' at the respective promotions...rather watch splash or the usual crap on the box....

Think you guys are destined for mid table. Difficult to beat at Monmore though. As always, i shall enjoy my trip to the black country for the Robins visit. I may even catch up with Stevebrum and consume a decent pint of Mild. -
