Bit early to be on the sherbet oltimer..... -
Souvenir shop is on line Sid. A money saving venture. Bellevue fixture should be a tenner to get in as should the Sky match. Zagar apart, the Aces are simply not an attractive fixture this season sadly. Similarly Lakeside won't be drawing the crowds to Blunsdon. Both teams (whilst accepting they have made changes) were the most inept sides I have witnessed at Swindon for many a year and both have to visit us again. So, the management should be looking at 2 of the remaining fixtures for £10 entry. The Poole visit will be of interest, due to their precarious play off position and the fact that it is a local derby of sorts and will naturally be a big crowd. Anyway Sid, I thought you jump over the wall, or is that Keef? What's happened to our forum Taxi Driver recently?

Perhaps they will consider Miskowviak again!! Lets face it Noggin, its not going to happen is it. I'd keep Kennett in the side, but if I had to change him, it would have to be someone coming in who is going to potentially score some double figures.....like Mikkel Bech Jensen....

The core of the team for next season will feature Kildermand, Doyle, Morris, Simon Gustafsson and Cameron Woodward I reckon.

First time I saw Nick Morris was when he was 16 and guesting for Coventry at Blunsdon. He looked good then. I then saw him at Newport riding for Glasgow when he was quite superb. In that match he stalked and then passed Jason Doyle who was himself in brilliant form that evening. I was delighted the Robins signed him as a full asset this season. I watched him this season at Somerset and Blunsdon and he is definitely developing nicely. In relation to Edward Kennett, I suppose I will be ridiculed by fellow Robins fans for saying this, but I still thing he is a decent signing. I don't buy in to his body language being poor on Thursday. He was bitterly disappointed when his bike stalled yes, but in his previous races he rode sensible lines and looked quick enough. His season has been up and down, but he has improved his average. Wasn't that what we were looking for him to do at the start of the season? I believe he will come good again and I think he should be signed for next season.

We can't but help being sentimentally attached to the back straight bogs at Swindon......they are legendary and part of the very fabric of our clapped out stadium. Tracing paper for bog roll, the stench of pi**, and plagued by Wood lice......

Tai Woffinden
EnglishRoundabout replied to David Haddock's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Have always been impressed with Woffinden when riding at Blunsdon. He has natural balance and ability on a speedway machine. I am relieved to hear he is portraying a more mature character of late. I do recall some rather embarrassing interviews with him on Sky a few years back. -
You are such a tease......

Still positive Sid. See Peterborough v Swindon post.

Once again a cracking match for a holiday crowd of around 1000 I guess. Hougaard's brilliant ride in heat 13 was incredible. He simply moved Josh aside before timing his move on Dyer to perfection. Josh was a little animated after the race and Garry May was there to put a consoling arm around him as he walked back to the pits. I managed a quick chat with 'Paddy' after the match and he described his move to get past Josh as a 'little naughty, but I knew I had the speed and needed to get past him'. Kyle Newman was involved in another frightening crash, hitting the deck face first after going past Birks entering turn 3. The Rebels young riders really are brave lads and fairly steam through the slightest gap at high speed. An observation on a couple of fans tonight. There is a geezer who stands on the back straight who whenever there is a crash, leaps over the fence, rolls his sleeves up and sets to work in repairing any damage to the fence. Once finished, he simply gets back over the fence and re- joins his mates in the crowd! Compare that to another guy, in his late fifties who whenever a Rebels rider hits the deck, he uses foul language and obscene gestures at the opposing riders. Tonight, he gesticulated angrily at Ashley Birks after Newman's crash. He did similar again earlier to Birks after his clash with Nick Morris in heat 3. For the record, the ref got both decisions correct and the numpty was left literally hopping mad! I nearly offered to buy him an ice cream to calm him down.... -

I saw Glasgow at Plymouth recently and they were pretty dire. Tonight they are even weaker without Screen.... -

Was looking forward to coming down to Somerset again tonight, but no Doyle or Screen put the dampeners on it for me. Nick Morris to clean up tonight? -
Your All-time Hero..and Why

I used to enjoy the rivalry with Newport in those days sidders. Crump, Herne and the pantomime villain, Gresham. Their friendly and noisy fans, the crap track at Somerton Park... -
Yes, Darryl progressing nicely after his winter switch to the Isle of Wight. Hopefully he can sign up for a PL side in the near future.
-
Ahh the brilliant Ace of Spades.....terrific track to play as the riders approach the tapes... Who? Is that a mountain in Surrey?
-
Ok cheers.

What is the actual injury Blu?

Hey boy hey girl....The Chemical brothers...the music used as the riders revved their engines prior to the tapes going up in heat 1 at Swindon. Inevitably it also reminds me of the great Leigh Adams emerging from the first two bends in front....
