  1. You get 'what it says on the tin' with Mads. Good team player, wears his heart on his sleeve, and 100% effort all of the time. His problem as others have identified is inconsistency. He was referred to by some at Swindon as Ted Rogers.....3,2,1....
  2. Thanks for reminding me ancient mariner, it was indeed Rebels v Monarchs.
  3. He's another enigma in the KK bracket. Brilliant one minute, abysmal the next.
  4. And Leicester is the 10th biggest city in the UK. And its famous for Eurovision entrant Englebert Humperdink. And it has two of Englands most capped footballers.....messrs Shilton and Lineker....and for David Icke....
  5. I was going to say there must have been at least a glass of mulled wine involved there!!
  6. The EL side take precisely? That's a new one Phil The Ace!!
  7. Tough as teak is Cory. I remember him hitting the third bend fence back/neck first a couple of years ago, whilst trying to blast around the outside. Horrendous looking crash. Must admit I immediately thought the worst, but he was up and back in the pits preparing for his next race....which he duly won. Agree with others in that Gathercole puts absolutely everything into his speedway. I had high hopes he would develop into an EL heat leader whilst he was under the great Leigh Adams's wing at Swindon, but instead, he seemed to go backwards. That said, a guaranteed PL six and a half point man. Someone out there will snap him up I'm sure.
  8. Living in Wiltshire but working occasionally in Cambridgeshire and Warwickshire, I visited the EOES as often as I could as I was pretty much guaranteed top class racing. Along with Somerset's OTA and possibly the Shay at Halifax, simply the best racing I have seen at Peterborough. Moreover, superb elevated unobstructed view, which of course makes a difference. I'll be rooting for you guys to get back to EL racing as soon as possible.
  9. Can't understand people saying this Somerset team wnn't be up to it. The top 3 in Doyle, Morris and Allen is very strong. Supported by Wright, this team will be formidable at the OTA and more than a match for most clubs away from home. Whilst I wouldn't say they look like league winners, they are paly off material in my opinion. Lets face it, that's all supporters of any team want to hear and see at the start of the new season!
  10. Maybe Toogood's accountancy background is coming into play! On another note, if Swindon are looking at including assets (Kildemand excluded by the sounds of it) I wonder if Justin Sedgeman is worth another look? Failing that Richard Sweetman can surely be persuaded out of his premature retirement? He held his own in the main body of the Coventry side that won the league under Rosco. Possibly their averages fit, certainly Sedgey's I would imagine.
  11. I would have liked to see Doyley back but its not to be for whatever reason. No sleep lost for me though and I'd be happy to see Batch back. Not sure Doyley will improve further, and if I am honest, Batch has the edge on him.
  12. Now now...you know you will get crump99 back on here in a flash....
  13. Hope you are right. disastrous that the best track in the EL may be missing in 2014.
  14. Where are you getting the 'no Doyley' vibes from Crazy?
  15. I hate to say it but to be brutally honest, I can't see there being any speedway at the EOES next season. That includes PL, NL or open meetings.
  16. I understand your rationale for the crowds not returning orion but I reckon we won't see much difference in crowd size next season compared to last season's attendances. However, a winning side may even increase the enthusiasm, and with more regular speedway, fans continue the 'speedway habit' rather than ridiculous 3 weeks breaks in mid-summer. Swindon have the potential to build a strong top 5 with their mostly their own assets. Rossister has also indicated that there are plenty of riders that want to ride for the Robins, and the future has been assured financially so its not all doom and gloom!
  17. That won't happen Olovski. Doyley will be full time for the Robins.
  18. Wish I had your crystal ball Drop a cog....predicting coming top when hardly any of the teams have yet to assemble their sides!
  19. Strange move by the management in my opinion. Davies is a fine prospect and has come on leaps and bounds in the past two seasons. His partnership with Nick Morris at the OTA especially, was very entertaining. Potential to add a point on his average next season I reckon. Got a feeling Plymouth may be lying in wait for what would be a terrific capture for them.
  20. Schlein would be an excellent signing for Swindon. A Blunsdon track specialist with potential to add a point and a half to his average. A spearhead of Kildemand, Schlein and Doyle with Morris in the engine room would suit me fine!
