How frustrating a rider is Zagar? Looks world class on his day and I enjoyed his sublime skills on a speedway machine in his brilliant season at Swindon when he and Leigh Adams were simply invincible together. However, he seems to produce only when he's in the mood nowadays. Why does he never ride in heat 15's? Surely it is not acceptable when points are at stake? Has there ever been an explanation for this? Isn't it the Aces fans who lose out? Matej is now a GP regular but you are still likely to get a scintillating maximum one week, followed by a very poor performance the next. The enigma that is Matej Zagar. -
Reckon we are in for two very close matches. Ten point defeat at Brandon for the Robins and we repay the favour at Blunsdon. So it will all be decided by a two man run off. Both matches will be raced in a super charged atmosphere. Swindon will fill bends one and two at Coventry as in the EL final back in 2007. Bees fans will also be at Blunsdon in large numbers. All set for a classic.

Jenga tedious? Surely not! Mind you, he does pop up on most threads with his 'input'. Surely he's not another KKS metamorphism? -
Why wouldn't Pedersen deserve a testimonial Pinstripe? I'm no Pedersen fan but surely it's obvious to any true speedway fan that he is one of this last decades loyal and committed riders, both in the EL and previously the PL? Surely you're not buying into the 'agent Pedersen' rubbish?

KK is a class act when at his best. He beats the best at almost every track, no matter what the shape or size. He has an immaculate style and looks silky smooth. However, he is unreliable, inconsistent and untrustworthy. KK has let every EL club down that he has ridden for (although Aces fans seem to remember him more fondly than his more recent clubs) I do recall Chris Morton being very critical of him in his final few meetings for Bellevue however. His loyalty in the EL is atrocious and he is a major risk as a signing for any club.

Robins 2014

Maybe my memory has faded in time but as a youngster I used to sit on the iron railings right next to the start gate and marvel at Kilb's lightening fast starts. I don't recall him rolling, but certainly some tape breaking. Even more prone to this away from home. Ivan Mauger however superb rider that he was, I recall continually rolling back and forth before getting a jet propelled 'flyer'. That said and as Sidney pointed out, it never did him any harm long term! -
To be fair Oldtimer, you have been spoilt watching speedway at the OTA week after week. I grew up watching speedway at Swindon, which in my opinion was one of the best and fairest race tracks in the country, but on a good day, there were nowhere near as many passes and exciting races as there are on as you say an "average" meeting at Somerset.

Rollers grachan? I think not! Timing and pure reactions was Kilb. From memory, he often led by three bike lengths going into the first bend. No rollers. He left that to Mauger. -
Thought I would start this thread. (Especially for Starman) Another thumping home win coming up, even without Brady Kurtz and Pontus Aspgren. No surprise if the Rebels hit 60 again. Josh should at least keep the Rebels honest but just can't see any firepower anywhere else. Hope I'm proved wrong. The racing will still be top drawer though. The track this season has produced decent racing all season.

EnglishRoundabout replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Worrall has clashed with Nick on a couple of occasions this season. Worrall was also involved in the crash (although blameless) where Brady Kurtz broke his arm at Somerset. -
Shov intelligent? Thought you were being serious for a minute!

The kid has admitted some of his mid season problems were a lapse in confidence. Plus he was simply not getting out of the gate as he would have liked to. Credit to him, he seems to have got over the blip and forged on. -
Panthers Vs Plymouth..... 2/9/14

I always enjoy my trip to the EOES. Definitely one of the best racing tracks in the country. Have to say the crowds at Peterborough have been poor in the last few years (compared to Swindon at least). -

On the flip side, Rosco comes to Somerset pretty regularly and is always up for a chat at the after meeting rider of the night presentation. Often he is there with his wife and children, but still gives up a few minutes to talk to the supporters. -

Actually, Jensen looked very quick in his last 3 rides on his last visit. Mixed it too with the Rebels riders. -

Another hammering in store for the visitors, even without Kurtz and Aspgren.
