  1. Can't see Garry May selecting a journeyman like Richard Hall. In releasing both Allen and Morris I am sure there is an inspired signing around the corner. Certainly Matt Ford indicated there would be!
  2. Olly had originally stated before last season started that this would be his last year. However, during the play offs he stated his enthusiasm for the sport had been rekindled after the season he has had with the Rebels.
  3. Kyle just started to get to grips with the Blunsdon track at the back end of 2012. His performance against the Robins in the play offs showed how confident he has become.
  4. Thought I'd mention Swindon's win at Peterborough this afternoon KKS (as you have previously). Get in there mighty Robins!
  5. Pontus is at that awkward average where he will be difficult to fit in. With the points limit in the PL remaining the same, I reckon the Rebels will lose both Pontus and Olly, meaning they will keep Nick Morris, Todd and Brady Kurtz, Paul Starke. Be prepared for some surprises for the remaining places.
  6. When you compare him to say a rider of similar age from Denmark, like Lakeside's Jensen or any of the young Aussies, he looks like a complete novice I'm afraid. Pains me to say as I want England to be the top speedway nation again as much as anyone. However, let's be honest here, Tai Woffinden apart, the cupboard is bare.
  7. Nick Morris, Simon Stead, Gegorz Zengota and Jurica Pavlic are other assets that are potential heat leaders.
  8. Think I can beat that! When I was a youngster I was so keen to know how the Robins performed on the Saturday night at Bellevue, I actually phoned Martin Ashby on his home phone number (which was in the telephone directory) on the Sunday morning. Martin himself answered the phone and kindly gave me a run down of the scorers! A true gent was the Robins skipper.
  9. Well said. Not sure how they do it. Wind, rain, dark and cold. Cheers guys.
  10. Olly Allen deservedly rider of the year in my opinion. Unfortunate with several knocks and minor injuries throughout the season, but played a captains role and helped to foster an excellent team spirit. This was to be Olly's last season, but his form and enthusiasm for the sport has returned. He dialled in to the OTA and at times looked unbeatable there. Not sure if he can be fitted in next season but I for one would like to see him back.
  11. Kyle Newman will be at Plymouth next season. He's been offered the captaincy too.
  12. I thought Nick looked a bit awkward during the celebrations. It would be good to see him back at Blunsdon next year. He needs to step up full time in the EL and maybe get the odd Polish gig.
  13. I had a superb view of Craig Cook's gating abilities at the OTA last Friday. He tried to anticipate the start in heat 5, but only penalised himself and ended up losing control on the second bend after attempting a blast around the outside of Charles Wright (who wasn't giving an inch). Thereafter, Cookie made three magnificent gates. Moreover he was 'statue still' when doing so. It's a few years since we had a British rider (Woffinden apart) who is able to trap as well as him.
  14. Poole are certain to use Brady in my opinion. They will look to loan him out to the Rebels.
  15. I reckon they'd loan him out for a season whilst he cleans himself up. Moreover, I bet he'd happily go to Swindon or KIngs Lynn for a year.
  16. Starman hassle? I don't think so. Loves his speedway, goes to POole and Somerset to get his fix and has an opinion. Don't get sucked in by him Springdale.
  17. He scored 11 with two good wins last time at the OTA I think coomie. Can't recall how many he got in his first match, but I do remember his close encounter with the safety fence after Olly Allen showed him who was boss!
