Greenwood has asked to be released due to work commitments. X
-
Also rans? How do you work that one out, the season hasn't started yet!
-
Yep, il give you that! Reckon they can sneak fourth place.
-
Whilst I would like to see the Aces return to their glory days, I don't see this side doing it. Fricke is an excellent signing but in my opinion, their heat leaders are not consistent enough away from Kirky Lane. Mid table for me.

Tell you what, these Aussies....can't get on with anyone....
-
I don't doubt he had Arlington totally Sussed, but there again so did Floppy but you could never say he was world class. Moreover, sommelier's post was in relation to his performance at Poole last season. I can't recall any 'world class' performances by Bridger at Poole whether riding for Lakeside or guesting for the Pirates.
-
You still on the sherry sommelier?
-
Bridger world class? When was that then? He's nothing more than ordinary and has flattered to deceive after showing plenty of potential as a 16 year old.
-
I reckon the Somerset management will show a little more imagination than that!
-
The Sun newspaper crazy? Were you bored?
-
Similarly, Briggo was superb around Plough Lane.

What was rare Sid was visiting number ones having a complete nightmare meeting at Blunsdon. For example in recent seasons I recall riders like Zagar, NIcholls, Pedersen and Andersen scoring 4 or 5 points. Can't recall that happening in the 70's. Normally visiting number ones were feared and would produce double figure returns.
-
Haven't read the whole thread but I watched most of the 70's at Swindon, following the team home and away. I took a 20 year break from the sport before returning in 2006. The things I noticed most were riders not shutting off entering the bends and the lack of full maximums from teams number one riders. Nowadays the number ones do seem to get beaten more often by second strings than they were back in the 70's.

Naa he was on the sherry early.

Yawn....

Todd Kurtz was pretty good too. Always looking for his team mate. -
Skidded and SCB popping in to have a little piss take of the Robins situation. We shall see. Let's comment on the full team once it's announced.
-
If no Jack Holder, just wondering if there would be enough room to squeeze Todd Kurtz back in? Still be a decent side with some strength in depth.
-
Are you really Sidders? With Rosco's record of building play off sides? Isn't it 6 playoff finals in the past 8 years? Pretty impressive stuff. Rosco isn't a tactical genius but he knows how to build decent entertaining sides. Looking at the team as it is now, and if it is Morris who is announced on Tuesday, then I reckon the team is shaping up nicely. In recent times the strength of the reserves have been criticised. Swindon are looking strong in this vital area next year. Morris should continue to improve as will Howarth. Batch still has room for more as well. Let's just wait and see what Rosco produces. He did say he was bringing in someone who he was positive would be a crowd pleaser. I don't doubt him for one minute.
-
Why do you bother engaging with him? Totally baffling.
-
They'll be rocking in the aisles down Tisbury way!!
-
I reckon I was in the minority being pleased with the Nicholl's signing in that Terrible season in 2010. Still reckon though ,he would be a decent signing. As a second string mind.
-
True enough. But we the fans just want some honesty and integrity not lame excuses about so called injuries that some how allow riders to ride in Poland and Sweden but not England.
-
Kaspraczak? Totally unreliable. He's let down Bellevue, Lakeside, Coventry and yes, even Poole. Superb to watch in full flight and brilliant around Blunsdon (even the great Leigh Adams was beaten by him on his own manor) but please not him.
