Bob Radford And Phil Crump
EnglishRoundabout replied to remembertheracers's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Crumpy was pure class and a constant thorn in the Swindon side in the middle 70's during his Newport days. Almost unbeatable around Somerton Park. Redford was a brilliant informative announcer. Probably the best I have experienced. Best of British to both for a speedy recovery. -
They might take some stopping around the SBA, but away from home they look like they will be vulnerable and there for the taking unfortunately.
-
He lost his ginger locks years ago!
-
Have to agree Sid. The Shay was superb, but saw Mike Keen badly injured there. Equally, riders like Geoff Bouchard who were prepared to put their back wheel in the dirt would succeed. Think I saw Geoff score 16 points there one Saturday night in the 70's.

Worky's title challenge?
-
He reached his peak last season. Shame as he took the gamble as a 17 year old and opted straight for the EL rather than cutting his teeth in the PL. No chance of any further improvement as he has little between his ears and there will always be a chance of imploding just around the corner.
-
aa A shocking history of poor judgement too. A massive risk for any club to sign him.
-
Ahh Jenga, it's been all of 5 days since you were on this thread. No chance of our party being ruined by Mr Ford. Matt gets along just fine with Somerset speedway. See you on the 27th March when Rebels entertain the Pirates.
-
And you have to say, both will be terrific signings.
-
Jenga was there.

Wolverhampton 2015
EnglishRoundabout replied to Wolfsbane's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Wolves look ok to me. They will be difficult to beat at Monmore so not all doom and gloom for their supporters. Always enjoy my trips to Wolves. Great little track. -
My point exactly. Haven't seen much of SCB on here gloating about the Robins line up lately.
-
Enjoyed my visits to Sandy Lane and the notorious Blackbird Leys estate which backed onto the stadium. Great local rivalry with Swindon. Was always good to see the Cowley stadium mostly full of Robins fans too! Remember seeing the great Ole Olsen score a sublime 15 point maximum riding for Coventry in the mid seventies at Cowley. Fairly scorched the track he was so fast. Tidy little circuit. Sadly missed. Let's hope for a return. Just reassuring knowing you are there on the Somerset thread Jenga
-
Great opener for the Rebels. Shows the progressive thinking of the Somerset management..... Isn't that right Jenga?
-
Miedzinski was in McDonalds, but then again you did say 'top riders'
-
Wish I could share your optimism. Give it until May and there will be another retirement I reckon.
-
Ha! That's rich!
-
Lakeside at Poole last year? What did he score during his world class performance?
-
Still banging on about Bridger being ' world class' I see. What utter nonsense. He is talented but nothing more than an average EL rider. His flawed personality will prevent him ever progressing.
-
After having met Matlt Ford recently, I actually thought he was a really decent bloke. I don't know about Middleditch, but it is sure hard to argue about his record as a team manager.
-
He's clearly not busy enough on the night shift
