Swindon - Wolves 30.4.15
EnglishRoundabout replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hoping Swindon show more consistency at Blunsdon than they did last year. Another home win would be just what the Doctor ordered. However, Wolves will provide a stern test. Karlsson is a little unpredictable around the Abbey, so they will need him firing on all cylinders. Robins by 4 points. -
You stick with them and support them. Simon Stead came in for some awful stick at Swindon in their championship winning campaign but came through in the end with several late season match winning performances.

Schlein is always much sought after. He is a 100% trier and a good team man. To toss him aside after a reasonable season last year would have been plain daft. Bjerre has potential to bang in double figure scores at most tracks and was a nailed on heat leader for this season. Lynn were absolutely right to sign them both. Questions are always asked if certain riders aren't fulfilling their promise / potential. Both riders will come good. The old adage form is temporary class is permanent springs to mind here!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing! So by not signing those two before a wheel was turned, which in my opinion would have been a huge gamble, who would you have replaced them with then?

Sheffield Vs Somerset Pl 23/04/2015
EnglishRoundabout replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You can see that Leigh is happy at Somerset. He has quickly become very popular with the fans and clearly has a good relationship with the management team. As already stated by others, he is a true professional Not for the first time in his career a 4 hour trip to his home matches is taken in his stride! -

Good man! They will need every voice possible! Can't ever recall a team of guests doing well anywhere. Still, here's hoping! -

Aston Villa Blu? I thought an exiled Scot living in Suffolk might at least support Ipswich! Not this time Baggers.....sadly. -
Shall we start a Swindon 2016 thread Coombers? Hate to say it but this season already does have a wooden spoonist feel about it.
-
Weighty had various Somerset riders test his engines after the recent match at the OTA. The verdict was unanimous! They are slow! I think Charles is aware that he needs to spend significantly to get to return to return to the standards and form of last year. Or even Wrighty!

Swindon have had wretched luck so far this season. The signing of Kildemand is excellent but I'm beginning to get a feeling that this is going to be a season long struggle. Hope I'm proved wrong.

What you don't realise is that he was probably making reference to the fact that the Rockets were in with a shout for much of this meeting. The final score flattered the Rebels. Rye House made a real fist of it and mixed it with the Somerset riders as well as out gating them on a regular basis. Jacobsen, Aspgren, Vissing and Boxall were all competitive pretty much throughout the meeting. There were numerous passes and tight finishes. The meeting was run smoothly by referee Robinson with no re-runs or tape infringements. Although dusty later on in the meeting, the track was first class with two racing lines. Great entertainment.

Is Rich Lawson The New Harry Kane?

You have obviously not seen Brady Kurtz in action then! He rarely makes the start and regularly comes from the back. -
Wolves Vs Belle Vue Tues 7th April

Now this would be a decent match for Sky to cover. Always decent racing at Monmore and some of the Aces are pretty good there too -
Somerset V Plymouth 3/4/15.
EnglishRoundabout replied to Cliffeboy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I thought Holder looked like he had plenty of potential. Ok he had two poor rides (his first was because he penalised himself by moving at the start) but then in two of his other rides he showed he had fire in his belly by chasing Brady hard for the first lap before losing ground on the flying Aussie Rebel, but then also keeping Richie Worrall honest for all four laps. -
Poole Pirates Vs Swindon Robins 3/4/15
EnglishRoundabout replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Was he though? Flattered to deceive most of the season, apart from a purple patch mid season. His averaged was certainly helped by riding at times with the great Leigh Adams. -
Is he riding then? If so I can see the OTA suiting him.
