  1. How civilised to see a sensible debate between fans of rival clubs!! How rare too!!
  2. Nice to see you are talking sense nowadays sommelier my friend, (after saying Bridger was class)
  3. Typical comment from the geezer who thought Somerset was in Devon last season. Barker provided plenty of entertainment as usual. Two terrific tussles with Richie Worrall, and managing to enrage the Somerset faithful (as per usual) with his combative style of racing. Like him or not he is a 100% racer.
  4. What? Well KKS, not many people give much respect for cheap shots like that.
  5. Trust me on this, Brady Kurtz is true class. I've watched him last season and this season and he has everything. He needs to learn to have a little more patience but he is fast, courageous and has terrific track craft for one so young. Sure he's had some shockers in front of the TV, but there aren't too many at 18 years old that aren't a touch inconsistent. Sadly he will be a Pirate (and not a Robin) soon and probably for many years to come. Fortunately, he will be loyal to British speedway, so at least we can watch him develop into what I consider will be a GP champion of the future.
  6. Aha.... Plymouth looking the team to beat, on the cusp of the play offs for the first time in their Pl history, all of the team firing and looking terrific........... Then Penny cross appears with some upbeat, inspirational stuff.....incredible really.....
  7. True enough although Matt Ford is probably the only promoter who could tempt him. Would be strange to see him riding in blue, I guess similar to Ward being in red!
  8. Money talks. Loyalty is a word used in the past and has now been discarded. Bet your bottom dollar if the right figure is offered, the future world champion will take it with both hands.
  9. Steady on there, was that a positive post?? Mind you, ' If any of the Rockets had fired' 'nowhere near as convincing a win as Somerset' Newman is appalling at Rye' 'there's still a long way to go'...... You will get there penny cross.....you will get there......
  10. Ward will win a. World title. I think you said in an earlier post Sidney that you think he is better than Leigh Adams even at this stage of his career? Not yet mate, no way. Adams was class, week in week out. Ward's not at that standard yet. Give him a couple more years to mature (some take longer than others) and I predict Ward will achieve greatness and win successive world titles.
  11. Is there currently a more corageous rider than Charles Wright? He spent almost the entire 4 laps in heat 12 literally scraping the boards on the turns and on occasions the straight, before blasting his way through. The best wall of death I've seen since Rickardsson at Poole. A truly entertaining meeting with the Witches in with a shout thanks to some fine riding from King and Tungate. The significant 'sun stopped play' delay hasn't been mentioned, no doubt because the regulars were royally entertained. The extra few hundred that tuned up probably had their appetite wetted too! Highlights of the meeting, apart from the Wright 'wall of death' was the King cutback to drive up the inside of Worrall, and Kurtz's terrific pass of King, before he unfortunately came to grief on the 4th bend, arguably over cooking it. A couple of mentions for two of the Rebels, Ollie Greenwood , who was truly in the mix in all of his races for little reward, and debutant Jensen who looked combative, and will add balance to the side. A mention too for the Witches, who were a determined outfit last night and gave the Rebels a real scare. Crap spelling!
  12. Super little track, nice set up and now, a decent team. The negative posters are conspicuous by their absence!
  13. How nice to read some positive posts from Plymouth fans!! Mind you, I'm not sure HT is a Plymouth fan!
  14. Very sad to see Leigh depart. He was loving his time at Somerset. However, the promotion have made a sharp move prior to some tricky matches coming up at the OTA. Jensen is an excellent signing after impressing at the OTA last season. Garry May surely has to make another change to the side. Charles Wright and Ritchie Worrall are not an ideal pairing and should now be split. I would put Worrall at number two, especially at home.
  15. Definition of 'protest too much' To protest about a statement or fact so loudly or so often, makes others begin to doubt you are telling the truth. Ahem.
  16. Talking of KKS Gater 1, I thought you were a fan of Gomolski from your Peterborough days?
  17. I am convinced Ritchie has a mental block when it comes to riding the OTA. He is scoring well almost everywhere BUT Somerset. In his first race last night he seemed in a trance, gazing at the green light for so long, he actually seemed surprised that the tapes went up! In heat 9 he did his utmost to keep the rider behind him.... Trouble was, it was Charles Wright!! It was plain for all to see that Wrighty gave him both barrels as they went back to the pits! Credit where it's due though, the Rebels were outdated and out ridden. Cook, Riss, Sedgmen and to a lesser extent Wolbert, we're all in fine form. Rider replacement I noticed, somehow escaped the traditional 'bumps' at the pit gate!
