I'd say the entrance fee at Somerset is worth the money. 90% of the meetings I saw there last season had terrific racing with numerous passing.

I can just about recall seeing him ride. As a small child I was taken as to have small he looked on a bike. In later years I remember him being a bit of a thorn in the side of Swindon whenever we visited Saddlebow Road. -

Spot on PTA. I said some 12 months ago the stadium wouldn't be ready this year. Maybe March 2018 is more realistic. In the meantime, Robins have the 'old lady' to ride this season. The creaking, leaking stadium can just about last another season, and the back straight bogs will continue to be a popular topic of conversation for another season.

What an absolute cracker of a meeting for the season opener! Well done Debbie and the promotion in getting this one. A real feather in their caps! Doyley himself will put an extra couple of hundred on the attendance and our noisy neighbours from Dorset and Wiltshire will I am sure be there in force! Wrap up warm folks as that sea breeze blows in with an Icy blast in March!

Or Somerset, Peterborough, Scunthorpe and Bellevue?

I agree Jake Allen was an inspired signing last season and has the potential to go a lot further in the sport. He is a real racer, loves winning and hates losing. He is equally an excellent team man. Always aware of his team mates and will team rider whenever possible. His now famous third bend dive bombs will become even more popular this season with the exposure on Sky sports, as will his never say die attitude. Jake was a little guilty of over riding at the OTA last season, often pulling some over zealous shapes on the bike, which seemed to slow him down more that propel him forward. That said, this happened less and less as the season progressed. As others have predicted, I reckon he will be pushing for heat leader status by the end of the season.

Popped up to Blunsdon today on my way through Swindon. No change from my last visit. Completely deserted of any JCB's, dumper trucks or indeed any workers whatsoever. Just glancing at the current stadium as I drove past, it really does look very run down now. In recent years it appeared to have received a lick of paint, but boy does it look tired, old and neglected now. I often poke fun at the back straight bogs belonging to the early sixties, but the stadium itself is beginning to look dire and in similar condition to those famous bogs. I appreciate my post is rather negative, but I still believe a new stadium will be built, but personally I can't see it ready until 2018. I have a feeling that there is some wrangles/disputes going on currently that haven't been released to the media or more importantly the long suffering supporters. The club really do need to come out and make a strong statement about what is currently happening. How about a joint press release with the people who are allegedly going to build the stadium? What about some specific timings of the completion? If there is a slight complication, what is it? Maybe the new commercial team can take the lead on this? Liaison with the supporters is so important.

Save your breath Steve0, save your breath.....

Which scarf will you be wearing starry? Your red and blue or blue and white?
-
Sharing with Somerset? What does that mean please?
-
Goodness, how patronising can you get? What the heck does it matter? Who the feck gives s sh1te anyway?

Thought I'd post an update on developments at the stadium. Went to Blunsdon today at around 2pm. No JCB's, no dumper trucks. In fact nothing but a set of iron railings surrounding some rubble and huge puddles from the recent rain. The place was deserted.

Starry me old mate, i saw you a few times at the OTA las season, instead of engaging in 'warfare' with your forum feuds, why don't you enlighten us with your memories from the Rebels historic season?
-
Why is it that January through to March seems to suddenly slow down? The close season seems to speed along nicely up to Xmas, but now it feels like the brakes are firmly on! So, to pass another incredibly boring Saturday evening, just wondered if any Somerset fans wanted to look back on the historic season that has just ended from ror the Rebels, and reflect on some personal favourite moments. Danny Kings's high speed coming together with Charles Wright in heat 5 of the Ipswich match in April. The incredible stormy weather during the Peterborough match in June. Fence panels blowing off, narrowly missing supporters on the home straight. I've heard of rain causing a track inspection, but not high winds! What about Ryan Fisher passing Simon Stead in the pairs meeting, waving to the Edinburgh fans as he did so! Fisticuffs between Jake Allen and Matej Kus in heat 15 of the excellent meeting with Newcastle in July. Rohan Tungate"s amazing 'wall of death' in the superb heat 15 of the semi final first leg against Ipswich. The conclusion of which almost produced more fisticuffs between an enraged Josh Gracjzonek and a stricken Ben Barker, whose boot was literally hanging off. And of course the emotional joyous scenes as the Rebels clinched the Premier league title against Glasgow in October. Come on Rebels fans, or indeed any other fans who visited the OTA, give us your memories and stimulate some conversation.

I jest sommelier. Gavan provides decent debate, but is slightly vulnerable to a little bit of winding up, especially where starman and Shov are concerned!
-
Coming on to the Somerset thread looking for sympathy are we? Don't worry, it won't be long before you are getting wound up on here too. Starman posts on here fairly frequently.
-
a Can't see either having a problem with the Rye track. Watt did well enough at both Eastbourne and Lakeside. Harris rides the likes of Monmore Green well enough.
-
He hasn't done so bad being their mate in the 5 or 6 play offs that he has reached as Robins team manger though has he?
-
You wait Shov, he will reply something like, "well he started it".....
-
You sound like a right charmer.
-
Yes, amazingly he has. Seen him beat the great Leigh Adams fair and square around Blunsdon a couple of times. Oozes class on occasions, but then trundles around at the back like Sumner McKnight on another day.

Completed by the end of the season is my guess mate. Then Rosco can assemble a title winning side for 2018.
