Haven't seen Charles ride this season. What has made the difference to his excellent start I wonder? Is he gating more consistently? Furthermore, I wonder if perhaps he has invested more in his machinery. I know he has some loyal sponsors, especially those at Somerset.

Rye House Vs Swindon 08.04.17

Really? Rather arrogant thing to say. Everyone gets predictions wrong from time to time. Its the nature of this sport. Now what was that prediction of yours about Somerset last season..... mmmm -

Can only see a thumping win for the Rockets. -
Isn't that a cream for piles?

You sound like a mighty unpleasant character. Why don't you just wind it in and stop being so unpleasant?

His team riding with Lee Richardson and latterly Matej Zagar was in my opinion even better Sid. Leigh ensured Travis McGowan's bank account looked a little better by team riding him through to many heat advantages too. Such a skill, especially as McGowan's machinery seemed as sluggish as Ronnie Russell's tractor. Such a shame Doyley doesn't seem to do it. We shall see if that changes this Friday.

It's just the usual spin....

Maybe Garry May wants to keep the successful Josh and Jake partnership together. Certainly seemed to know where each other were last year. moreover, the Wright/Starke partnership has been severed, which in my opinion is the right decision too.

Can't see Somerset or Leicester winning it to be honest. Kings Lynn to win is my prediction. Probably based on how quick Lambert looked once he got dialled in after his appearances last year.
-
That pairing really wets the appetite for this meeting. What a cracker of an opener this should be. Lambert looked superb at the OTA last season. Really looking forward to seeing Holder and Kasprczak too.
-
In all my years watching speedway, both tracks have served up classic meetings/racing in the past, just like any other track. Sure, tracks have changed somewhat from the 70's but I have witnessed some of the best racing I've ever seen at both tracks. Wilson v Ashby British final run off at Coventry and Harris's pass on Holder during the play off final (Poole v Coventry).

Maybe to give Paddy some early match practice?

Olly Allen was a pretty good captain in his one season with the Rebels I thought. I guess the only negative was fellow Rebels riders would have to be razor sharp around the first two bends as Olly was uncompromising towards anyone that was in his way!
-
Agreed Cliffeboy. Kasprczak and Kurtz would be my choice for Poole.
-
Tough ask for Doyley to hit the ground running after his injury Cliffeboy, and not convinced Morris particularly enjoys the OTA. I rather fancy Kasprczak on our track. Not sure who he will be paired with, but I will take a punt at Brady Kurtz.

I think Janowski was sold to Poole. In return, Swindon bought Doyle.

Good to see you on the Swindon thread Blu.

Starry! You are back! Everyone's missed you!

Had an opportunity to nip into Blunsdon last night and can confirm there is no longer any building equipment present. Moreover, the portakabin that was being used by the two or three builders wearing hard hats back in December, has now gone. Huge waterlogged area with collapsed metal railings tumbled on top of each other. Not a spade, a trowel a bag of cement or more importantly anybody in sight. I have to admit I have always thought that Swindon would get a new stadium, but not March 2017 (the original forecast) and certainly not September 2017 (the second prediction). However the sight that greeted me last night was depressing and for the first time I am beginning to doubt.

Me thinks it's the start of Shov's fishing season.......

King's Lynn Stars 2017

Rohan Tungate has a similar gating style. Leans over the handlebars more than others to get the required traction. Speaking with other riders, they do say that being small/light is a definite advantage for a speedway rider What I would say is that if they are small in stature, then they sure need to be tough into the first turn. I can recall Leigh Adams 'dealing ' with Bjerre rather uncompromisingly at Blunsdon a few times. -

Nice summary thanks. I wasn't comparing Turner with the Moran's in class, just in their diminutive stature. -

Was he a gater? It does seem that the smaller riders have such exciting looking styles. The Moran brothers always spring to mind.
