Nicki Pedersen Injured.
HAMMER57 replied to foamfence's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I thought this was a Speedway thread For people too say they hate this rider or that rider is a bit strong all of them put their life on the line when racing for us the fans to watch what think about their riding style is nothing to do with them as a person. Having meet and spoken too both rider all I can say is Nicki was a real gent and a pleasure to talk to. Darcy was a kid still learning and trying too cope with the all the hype I wish them both well as they recover Ps Get well soon Nicki and back to racing Sorry people rant over but that did wind me up -
Wife just spoke with Lakeside Looking good for tonight. HOPE IT STAYS DRY

I said in another forum.A couple of years ago a good friend within in the speedway world said Top teams can,t afford to carry on like this and it will end up being a semipro/am sport. I think he may well be right -
Many thanks Harry will get in touch today is poss and let you Know again thanks

Great topic I tend too read but not post alot because as my wife says and she reads here as well. Their seems to be little clicks on here that talk to each other and not welcoming to new members also some just like to bitch at each other. Having said that some of the posters know what their talking about when it comes to speedway and we enjoy reading them. As for what team Hammer66 its got to be Lakeside lol

WELL SAID Do it for the fans Tai.But most of all lets hope they all ride well with no one hurt -
That will mean some people saying Tia only won because Emil out. But lets be fair as sports fans he is leading rode when hurt and I for one wish him luck as I did from the start. But most of all lets remember he is a speedway rider and puts all on the line as they all do every heat.Lets hope no one hurt tonight

We in my household thought the same did he change something ? But good luck too him for the rest of GPs -
This I know but the point I was making if it was filmed by Eurosport I would not have a prop watching. As its looking like no Speedway on Sky next year
-
SCB I did not say it was better coverage I said I enjoyed the coverage as it was shown live and I would not have a problem with watching E/L on Eurosport
-
Well done Eurosports I like many have said did enjoy the coverage and no studio is great Do people think with all the good comments we can get them too cover the E/L. I for one would be well happy if it was too happen.

Why Do Speedway Meetings Take So Long To Run
HAMMER57 replied to cityrebel's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I can only agree with the post about the pit gate and restarts lets hope refs can keep it shut and stop riders going back in all the time. WE all know a dry clutch gets hot but if it burns out thats racing.Having said that only needs a few riders to say about cost of clutch and the pit gate will be open again Who would be a ref lol -
Good Luck Havvy Great world champion and all round nice guy Best wishes for you and your family. A real credit to the speedway world

Some really good points made on this topic and I agree with a lot of them. But can i just say I was talking too a friend who has been heavily involved in speedway for 40+ years and he also had some good points. Many clubs cannot afford what some of the riders want and with out sky money and some clubs losing sponsers we could end up with an amateur sport in a couple of seasons. We already have many DUs and riders with jobs outside of speedway riding in the EL. But with no speedway on tv and very little in the press how do you bring in the new younger fans? Only so many family and friends we can get too go. I dont know the answer really wish i did
-
I like many on the forum said I only have sky sport for the speedway season and have done for a few years think its because I am a die hard fan lol.We are not big sports fans just love our speedway so the cost in the speedway off season is not worth it. Having said that I will have sky sport if only for the EL and sky have given me a deal half price sport for 6 months that I hope will cover the season [not too many rain offs]you can,t beat going to a meeting but speedway on sky is a fix when we can,t So if it is the last year on sky lets just all enjoy it and hopefully some great racing

The Start Of The Decline

Hard to say really Cost maybe but what other sport can you see some of the best in the world for 17 quid Lay down engines maybe as a lot of money spent on tuning now But i think what really puts the fans off is going to a meeting and seeing your team lose because of that B----Y silly TR rule if the team has ridden to a good lead let them keep it.I think it would also stop top heavy teams ie Poole last year
