Superbikes are just as entertaining as speedway. You get races within a race too! As for processional, speedway is more often than not follow the leader. If speedway is better why does it struggle to fill a cowshed? Motor Cycle News binned Moto X, Trials etc years ago, nothing to do with it not being a proper bikesport.

I have worked for Mike Bennett and have to say the guy is a perfectionist! He did a lot of work away from the track that fans weren't aware of too! He's obviously not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but the guy did his best for the sport and even dipped into his own pockets a few times to ensure the sport got some media coverage. Whilst he was working at a pirate radio station he even gave the sport a regular slot! To those who gave him a hard time, Oxford fans, I have to say you're very much mistaken. Mike lapped up all that booing! Better to be booed than ignored! You played right into his hands lol. Amongst the others Dick Barrie is a gent away from the mike! Peter York is a pro, but did annoy me with his insistence at altering riders names. Rick Miller becoming Ricky Miller for instance. There's a lot of good guys around Craig Saul, Shaun Leigh etc Worst announcer I ever heard was Dave Willsher at Rye House and I wasn't that fond of Terry Ripo either. Rob McCaffrey wasn't bad, but hands out to many stats. At the end of the day it's all about personal preferences.

Darren Mallett would no doubt be competing at a higher lever, but for the injuries he's sustained mainly in crashes that weren't any fault of his own. Even if this is the level that these riders remain, so what? To criticise them for it is the same as criticising Premier League riders who don't move up to Elite. They entertain us at their own cost.

It was merely a post to let fans know that speedway has been included. Speedway is often ignored by the media. It just sounded like an excuse to snipe to me! This thread isn't even about debate just an announcement that a service is available via smartphone and tablet. You need to grow up!

You didn't try and finish a season at Workington, you tried to run a full season there in 1987. The promotion were intending to move to Roseberry Park, however that died a death.

The super little stadium has been left unused since the demise of Rushden and Diamonds and then Kettering moved out. Would make a great new venue for the sport.

To refuse on traffic issues has to have the backing of a Highways engineer! The stadium has hosted 10k in the past! The majority of football fans are well behaved. I can recall cars being parked all over during British Final days!

Well turnstiles and new stands will surely win at appeal! Ridiculous decision. It is a sports stadium and if this went to a public enquiry the football club would win easily! The access is far better than a lot of grounds!

Crowd levels concerning! Someone I know went and counted 58 people in the stadium!

I actually follow all bike sports and it is a fair comment that speedway isn't as popular with the biking fraternity as other motorcycle sports. Has anyone actually asked MCN why they no longer cover speedway. I can remember Andrew Edwards Speedway Slant column years ago.
