  1. You will always get poor refs in any sport, not just speedway. That's still no excuse to have a ridiculous rule that stops them from putting all 4 back if he can't apportion any blame in a crash, just because it's past the first bend.
  2. If they do, stop them from officiating and use a referee with common sense, simple.
  3. Riders who have caused a crash, should be excluded. Riders who haven't caused a crash, shouldn't be excluded. Surely you can understand that.
  4. Fair enough, we'll stay with the eeny, meeny, miny, moe way of excluding blameless riders!

  6. So you're saying the referee has to exclude someone, even when no one's to blame?
  7. It looks like Ward's fighting a lone battle at the moment. Hmm, spoke too soon!
  8. And Nicki would've thoroughly deserved it for years of causing trouble of some kind or other. Whereas Greg has made one transgression in his entire career, so deserved to get off lightly.
  9. Amazingly enough though, Jan O made 5 perfect starts in that 91 final, which surprised everyone...Including Jan O
  10. If it was just one isolated incident then yes, Hancock would've been out of order doing what he did. It wasn't though was it, Pedersen has been making reckless moves on riders, including Hancock for years. Everybody has their breaking point, if it wasn't Greg it would've been anyone of a number of other riders he's rubbed up the wrong way over the years, lets face it, it's quite a list! Gollob used to knock riders off left, right and centre until a 'quiet word from Boycie' calmed him down. Judging by the way he cowardly kicked that middle-aged geezer and ran off in Poland, and then a couple of days later starts waving his arm about and retires from a race in Sweden when he's cleanly passed by Laguta, proves in Nicki's case, once a prat...always a prat!
  11. And your opinion is advocating a rider continuingly putting his rivals in danger through reckless riding, and doing nothing about it..brilliant.
  12. It's interesting the different angles people take on certain events isn't it? Personally I'd have entitled the thread, 'Hancock unfairly banned for giving a dirty rider exactly what he deserved.' Still, it's all about opinions isn't it.
  13. If he applys himself correctly it's entirely up to him how many titles he wins, he could've had one already if he hadn't screwed up last year. In my opinion he's the most naturally talented rider in the world but, like Michael Lee he may not have the mental toughness to back it up.
  14. Nicki may be good from the front, but he doesn't seem to have a great racing brain when he's behind, as he makes a lot of desperate overtaking moves which invariably fail. I know Greg doesn't pass too often but when he does it's always clean. 3 titles each, but I class Hancock as the better rider.
  15. Possibly, if only to see what dumb thing he's going to do next! Let's face it, it's not for his fantastic racing manoeuvres, that's left to the superior-skilled riders like Ward, Laguta, Sayfutdinov, and dare I say...Hancock.
  16. Nah, just like Kildemand, Donald would Duck out of a tough challenge!
  17. Having been lucky enough to have attended the 75, 78 and 81 Wembley finals, I'd have to say as good as Cardiff is, it doesn't come close to the atmosphere and grandeur that Wembley provided. I can still remember the excitement of walking up the steps and seeing the track for the first time. The actual racing was never really that great, and it's only Penhalls races with Olsen and Knudsen that stay in my memory, but it was such a great occasion it didn't seem to matter. I've always felt it a shame that when they built the new Wembley they didn't build new twin towers instead of an arch.
  18. We all know that injuries are part and parcel of our sport, but you feel sick to the stomach when you hear news of a bad one. Let's hope Lewis makes a full recovery.
  19. There's no finer racer than Laguta when he's in the mood. What a fantastic meeting.
