More likely he's not strong-willed enough.

I really don't understand Emil. Surely every rider dreams of being world champion, it seems to show a lack of ambition. I'm sure the top boys in the gp make time to be with their families, so that seems a poor excuse to me. Even a 1 time world champion is always remembered in history. Who really cares who the European champion is?

Nobody swears in Australia, do they? -

I've got no problem with riders swearing during interviews as long as it's past the watershed, 9 o'clock isn't it? I had to chuckle last night when Nick Morris and Troy Batchelor were having a chat and Nigel Pearson apologised because there might have been swearing but he wasn't sure! It's a good job he's not a mind reader or he'll be apologising for riders who were thinking of swearing. -
Happy Per Jonsson day. Absolute legend!

I would say Zmarzlik and Piotr Pawlicki are the future of Polish speedway. Maybe I'm in the minority but I reckon Janowski is overrated. -

I don't see the difference between looking like something and being something. I still find it derogatory to say such a thing about someone who I hold in the highest regard. I've got the utmost respect for every speedway rider, be they a junior or a world champion, and I don't like it when people put them down in any way. I'll admit I've said some uncomplimentary things about Nicki Pedersen in the past, but watching that crash Saturday and how dazed he looked in he pits I realized what these guys go through. After what's happened with Darcy, I'll never criticize any rider again. Also I want to apologise to SCB for going a bit over the top tonight. -

Perhaps I'm missing something. In what way is Hancock acting like a prick in front of the camera? I've always found his interviews perfectly normal. Ok he holds his can up but surely that's what he's told to do by his sponsors. Tai and Chris do the same, he grins a lot but it's just his nature. I honestly can't see what people have against him. he's made one mistake in 26 years. As far as I'm concerned he's a perfect role model for any budding rider. -

The guy's calling a legend of our sport 'a prick', and some of his idiot followers agree with him. That's all that needs to be said. Pathetic! -

Hmm, it could have something to do with the fact that everything you've posted has been complete and utter bollocks! -

I'm not a fuddy duddy. I went to a Keane concert last week! If I remember correctly (with my fuddy duddy brain!) Even Ivan Mauger-the second best rider who ever lived, went downhill at 44. Whereas Greg Hancock is still riding high. I won't hear a word said against him. -

The man is a 3 time world champion, who is still at the top of his game at 45 years of age. He most definitely is not a prick. Show some respect! -

Shock, horror! Somebody being paid to advertise a product holding it up to a tv camera! So what if he wears a flat peak monsters cap, (I think that's what you meant to say!) And he grins a lot. The guys probably happy, I think I'd be if I'd achieved what he has. Woffy and Noddy hold their cans up for the camera..Are they pricks? -

So Greg Hancock wears Darcy Wards colours as a tribute to his good friend, and that makes him in your opinion, 'look like a prick'. Well I guess that tells us something about the kind of person you are. -

'Chickens coming home to roost' is an old saying, meaning past misdemeanors coming back to haunt you. It probably explains why Nicki gets baulked and barged about by most of his opponents these days. -

Who Would Ride And Win In The World Final Of The Nearly Men
Terry replied to Joe Beevers's topic in Years Gone By
Jack Biggs must have been the 'nearliest' of nearly men. 4 straight wins then runs a last when only needing 1 point. Then last again in the 3 man run-off. -
