  1. Can you imagine how great the gp season would be if every round was in Torun!
  2. I believe Peter Collins, Chris Morton and Kelvin Tatum have the MBE. I think every British world champion should be honoured, (although I admit Lee and to a lesser extent Havelock aren't shining examples.) Mauger also has the OBE (Old Big 'Ed!)
  3. Ironic really that Rickardsson had it won before the first Aussie gp and now Woffy's done the same.
  4. Have to hand it to Nicki, he always seems to pull it out of the bag in finals.
  5. I only found Penhall and Carter entertaining when they were against each other. Kelly was more entertaining than Shawn and Emil wouldn't want me to put him in!
  6. Couldn't resist it! 1. Barry Thomas 2. Joe Screen 3. Mark Loram 4. Nicki Pedersen 5. Kelly Moran 6. Andy Galvin 7. Darcy Ward 8. Peter Collins 9. Tomasz Gollob 10. Alan Mogridge 11. Sam Ermolenko 12. Zenon Plech 13. Chris Morton 14. Jan O Pedersen 15. John Cook Wild card. Kelvin Mullarkey
  7. Not much point bothering with the second leg at this rate.
  8. Come on Poole! #anyteamnotcontainingscottyou'llnevercatchmeridingforteamgbnicholls.
  9. Riding in the gp's keeps you sharp! Wroclaw putting up a good fight so far.
  10. It's only one person, most normal folk couldn't give a hoot. It's a rubbish anthem anyway. We should use Russias in the world championship...They're not gonna need it!
  11. I see what you've done there, you've put the last four letters of Gregs surname into capitals so as to call him a cock. How terribly clever of you. By the way, it's Nicki.
  12. Decent meeting, no more than that. I'm sure next week will be a lot better on a proper racetrack.
  13. I would say that Zenons best period was when he rejoined the Hawks halfway through the 79 season to replace the sadly departed Vic Harding. He was so fast, breaking the track record on an almost weekly basis. I remember him beating Ole Olsen from the back three times one night. And of course he finished second in the world final, where only a loss after a monumental battle with Kelly Moran deprived him of a run off with Ivan Mauger for the title.
  14. All the best Plechy. One of my Hackney heroes.
  15. It's a crying shame we're being robbed of seeing clearly the 2 best riders in the world fight for the title, even more so now that we've been deprived of Darcy. It's good that we have got a couple of exciting young Poles to liven it up, but they probably won't be championship contenders for a few years, so it seems Tai is going to pretty much have his own way for a while yet. He's even started to miss the gate now just to make it more interesting!
  16. ..Which will be completely forgotten about in a few years time. My personal opinion is the man is a fool for wasting probably his peak years riding in some tinpot tournament, when he could more than likely be winning world championships. I've never agreed with wildcards but as they seem to be here to stay, I'd have Hampel, Lindback, Kildemand and I'd love to see G Laguta in but it probably wouldn't happen, so Pawel Przedpelski. Why not!
  17. Make it a date, Friday at 8. Aaah, those were the days!
  18. Am I missing something? Why were Leszno celebrating like they'd won after heat 14, when a 5-1 from Torun in the last race would have tied the scores on aggregate.
  19. Totally agree. Chris is the epitome of the British bulldog. Just like Andy Smith before him, I love the way he always comes through the challenge with true fighting spirit. I couldn't care less if he doesn't score a point in next years grand prix, the fact he's qualified ahead of all of these supposedly 'great riders' is achievement enough. Good luck next year Bomber!
