  1. I half expected Greg to do one of his famous 'flying tackles' on KK there. (Perhaps he's getting too old!)
  2. I'd say most people have. They'd be some bloody big family reunions going on otherwise..
  3. It's all I watch it for. The speedway is just a handy bonus! Great meeting with some breathtaking girls racing. Luv the Russian anthem.
  4. I'm sure Emil was the other side of the air-fence on a couple of occasions during heat 8.
  5. Great racing so far, let's hope the rain doesn't spoil it.
  6. Or better still, get rid of the bloody thing altogether!
  7. That's true enough, maybe I was expecting too much from him. I was hoping he'd be Tai's main support with 7 or 8 points. Cook and King scored what I expected from them.
  8. Michael Lee was winning British Championships and qualifying for World Finals at 18. To be honest I thought Lambert did better in last years SWC particularly at Vojens, although he did beat Pawlicki, who beat Woffy twice. So I guess he did ok.
  9. Poland worthy winners and a great result for Britain. I was hoping we could nick a medal and silver is a great result. Brilliant from Woffy but the whole team contributed, just a shame Danny only gets going halfway through meetings! Nice touch from Tai giving the little girl his medal. He did everything right tonight, on and off the track and has gone up in my estimation.
  10. Australia worthy winners, didn't even need Fricke or the stupid joker. None of the Danes are as good as they were, including Iversen. Nicki seems more concerned about his appearance than his riding these days-knew Greg would outlast him at the top. Russia are a two man team, I've never rated Artem-never seems to be trying. Sweden could nick it tonight, but with their strength in depth, I can see the Poles dominating in years to come.
  11. Can USA reach double figures? Can Iversen beat Doyle twice? No and no. Gotta be better tomorrow surely.
  12. At least the scores are close now, makes up for the lack of racing.
  13. I guess Suzi has priority, would rather Natalie was presenting. Good to see Darcy looking well.
  14. Plus the announcer could have shouted, "let's get ready to Ruml!!!" before his races.
  15. I like Doyley, a good lad who makes the effort to ride in Britain. Let's face it, he's got a point about us being weak. I want to see the Aussies in the final as it's the only team we might beat!
  16. I can't imagine he will. The yanks are only doing what Poland have done, by making changes before declaring their side. Not good for the fans though, with USA being the epitome of a one man team.
  17. Kick out the yanks and let Britain have a practice.
  18. It's almost a shame Germany didn't qualify. At least Smolinski would be there as a spoiler.
  19. He's riding style is a lot like Leigh Adams, who wasn't known as a 'forceful' rider. Mind you if he achieves half of what Adams did he would have done well.
  20. Sweden for me. The Poles youthful exuberance could maybe cost them a few points through over-riding. Sweden. Poland. Britain. Australia.
  21. The only Longtrack final I can remember was Michael Lee's win with Dave Lanning saying, "he looks like a flying hairpin!"
  22. I'm able to separate peoples personal lives from their career. You once said Kenny Carter's racing career was irrelevant after he murdered his wife. I treat Carter the rider and Carter the man as two separate entities. I'm not saying any more on this subject because I'm not comfortable with it.
  23. I don't really get your comparison. Tai rides for the country of his birth and anyone who thinks he's Australian is obviously wrong. Maybe they think he's suddenly going to ride for the Aussies, but I can't see Antonio joining the Brazilian speedway team! Lindback seems a happy-go-lucky guy who always comes across well in interviews, so I can't imagine he gets any stick, whereas Tai's arrogance/confidence (delete as appropriate) isn't to everyones taste. On a lighter note it would be quite cool if he represented Brazil in the world championship-it could get the youngsters in that country interested in the sport.
