  1. Nasty! The life of a speedway rider, euro champ yesterday, hospital today. Hopefully he'll be back causing mayhem soon.
  2. Fair play to Nicki, maybe there's life in the old dog yet!
  3. Brilliant race! Looking forward to seeing more like that from Lindback in the play-offs.
  4. That's right. Briggo wanted to help him win the 86 world final, and gave him a right rollocking after Kelvin out trapped Nielsen but went too wide on the first corner and Hans cut back under him. He'd have been in a run-off for the title with Hans and Jan O if he'd won that race.
  5. Great signing by Poole, always enjoy watching Lindback ride. you can't blame him for wanting to make a few quid in Britain, after apparently being owed money by his Swedish club.
  6. Mark used to clock faster times in after meeting rides than Malcolm Simmons did during the main match in 86. Amazing talent. That was the only downside to dropping to NL in 88, having to lose Roland Danno, who everybody loved. Does anyone know how he's doing these days?
  7. I reckon he'll be dropping a fair few more f-bombs between now and the end of the season, as he gets ever more frustrated at seeing his world title slip away. Still, never mind, eh.
  8. Great meeting, shame we didn't get a last heat decider. ZG let down by Dudek last week and Pepe tonight. Where's the Mickey Mouse fan? Best team in the world? I think not.
  9. Looks like another drubbing for Wroclaw. Hardly surprising looking at how the teams line up. Gorzow have the world number 4 at reserve!
  10. Brilliant from the Doyler! I like Jason and Greg so I'll be pleased whoever wins.
  11. I'm getting a tiny glimpse then it's the 'Poltergeist' screen. Maybe it only works in the Poole area!
  12. Is Woffinden wearing his Team GB race suit tonight? Surely he should've handed it back when he quit the team.
  13. He had a few as well. "Separate the sheep from the goats", "they're dancing together" and Laguta the scooter!"
  14. Kelv must be the only motorsports commentator to say "crikey." Not forgetting Nige's classics, "he's gone square", "where did he find that from?" and "get outta the way!"
  15. It seems that Doyle has learnt from past mistakes and has cut out the 'reckless moves' this year. I can't imagine Nicki ever will!
  16. Wow what a final!! Brilliant stuff, well done Doyley.
  17. Well deserved as well, ridiculous decision to exclude Zmarzlik.
  18. In the first round second leg of the 1980 Speedway Star Knock-out Cup match between Hull and Hackney, Bo Petersen had 8 rides. The Hawks were operating r/r for Zenon Plech and Bo took 2 of his rides, plus 1 as a tac sub along with his 5 programmed rides in the 18 heat formula. Apparently the two promoters had mutually agreed that he could take the extra illegal ride, although the fact Hull already had an 18 point lead from the first leg at Waterden Road probably had something to do with their generosity!
  19. Greg wanted to make sure the USA made it through to the race-off, so that they didn't have to go through the qualifiers next year. Once that was achieved he gave up his place to a youngster to gain international experience, which as Lance King said is "typical of Greg." Ryan Fisher is based in Britain and Billy Janniro probably wanted to catch up with people he hadn't seen for years in England, so they weren't going to give up their places in the team. Greg's 46 and probably wanted to spend time with his family. He rode over here for about twenty years and doesn't owe Britain anything in my opinion. I'll certainly be cheering him on to (hopefully) his fourth world title.
  20. That's a strange way of spelling Darcy's name. I believe there's a village in Essex named Tolleshunt D'Arcy.
