  1. I remember as a kid, singing along to the Fireball XL5 theme tune! 40 minutes of world final coverage...I guess we're pretty spoiled these days with three and a half hours.
  2. So what has Smolinski decided on opening? A cat sanctuary or a brothel?
  3. Home team-red & blue. Away team-white & yellow. That's about as much as I know these days..
  4. Don't know if this is a wind-up so it could be a whoosh from me but international class riders like Bjerre can just go up a couple of gears in our league, whenever they seem to feel like it. I was hoping KK would do that tonight.
  5. After the last two nights that was all very disappointing. Only Barker and Robson emerging with any credit. Scotty should be ashamed of himself.
  6. And to think there were 6 Brits and no Poles in the '96 gp season!
  7. I haven't been to Ipswich for over twenty years but I remember a brilliant meeting in 1990 when the Witches beat the Kestrels by a point, with the last race being voted race of the season. I think it finished, Whittaker, Mogridge, Louis and Galvin. Great times!
  8. I wish people wouldn't keep banging on and on with the "my tracks better than yours" debate. Just be grateful you still have one...Some of us ain't so lucky.
  9. Too easy for Rye. Lynn bloody awful! A real shame Bomber's not at Belle Vue tomorrow. A Championship team with nothing to ride for taking priority over a Premiership team going for a play-off place. Madness.
  10. Rye's never been one of the best tracks but tonight's been a good'un with some great racing. Here's to the Rockets getting that 4th place.
  11. Come on you Rockets! Natalie looking nice and summery tonight.
  12. If you watch carefully though, he's actually mouthing Waltzing Matilda.
  13. Not a Woffy fan but fair play, great ride in the final.
  14. Madsen can be one of the fastest riders around when he's in the mood, as you say who beats Zmarzlik by half a lap? Unfortunately he's very unpredictable and just as likely to come last by half a lap! Saying that, I'd still put him or MJJ in ahead of Iversen and Kildemand just for a change if nothing else, as the Danes are all much of a muchness these days. There is always the Nicki option but that would just be a 'pity pick' based on past glories, and the fact he puts bums on seats...Personally I think he's mad to carry on riding, knowing that one more crash could cause permanent damage to his arm.
  15. So you're saying that the current world champion's time has passed.
  16. I'd forgotten that Holder needed a pick in 2014, I thought he'd qualified every year like Greg. He's also finished 8th three times. He's still pretty much nailed on I'd say but I'm not so certain now.
  17. Hancock and Holder are the two most obvious wildcard picks in the history of obviousness ever. Anybody who says otherwise must be clinically insane.
  18. Well it took 15 heats to get a good race! Gorzow should make up for it on Saturday.
  19. Doyle 'toying' with the opposition. They should handicap him 15 metres just to provide some entertainment!
  20. Has a gp ever contained no Danes before? Maybe Jensen, Madsen or Bjerre may be called up to please the Danish fans.
  21. Chances are we'll have more than Denmark next year.
  22. No Dane deserves a wild card imo, but he's got 10 years on Iversen who's basically finished as a title contender. At least Jensen still has time to improve.
  23. Top Dane in the challenge..not such a daft choice after all, was it?
  24. Well done Cookie. It'll be great to have one Brit to cheer on next year...as long as Dudek stays injury free.
  25. Well done Rye, and great to see Cookie back on it.
