  1. Of course it was the correct decision. I don't understand riders waving their leg about these days, obviously they are less in control. Especially on a rutty track like that.
  2. Well done Matej. The downside of course is another of those crappy trophies they got in a job lot.
  3. I remember 'Mad' Max. My mate asked her out in the Vic Harding Lounge one night..I can't remember what her reply was! Also June Heath (daughter of that 'Hackney institution' Terry) was another of the fairer sex to do a few laps. There used to be about 6 of us Terry's working at the Wick's Saturday training days, It was a bit like a Monty Python sketch...G'day Bruce.
  4. Aah, the ceremonial burning of Len Silver's trousers!
  5. No, I've always hated them. Top of the league=league champions, that's the way it should've stayed. League, British Final, Riders Championship etc...Why does everything 'have' to finish with a grand final these days?
  6. As a neutral I thoroughly enjoyed that. Most entertaining. It's a shame Poole didn't get a lead to make the second leg more interesting...I can't see Swindon having too much trouble at home. Certainly been impressed with young Kurtz recently, tonight and the U-21's. He seems to be leaving Jack Holder behind now.
  7. I must be watching a different meeting to everyone else, as I've seen passing in practically every race.
  8. Fair play to Woffinden tonight. He must have been gutted after last night, but he didn't let it show...A fantastic display of fast, wide riding.
  9. Yeh, Garry Middleton pulled a gun on Roy Trigg. Just a bit of boisterous high-jinx...It would be frowned upon now.
  10. How can you fail to like such a happy track. I went to Landshut in 89 for Briggo's Golden Greats meeting, and it was a darn sight more entertaining than the following days world final!
  11. The original question asked by Aces51 was "name an underserving world champion," the word 'worthy' only came up after I'd posted. Of course Penhall and Nielsen were both worthy champions, but if the question was still 'deserving' for those particular world finals, I'd say that Penhall was and Nielsen wasn't.
  12. I guess it's pretty straightforward if the standings remain the same; Hancock, Holder, Iversen and Zagar. If Zagar and Vaculik switch around a gp win could go in Vaculiks favour possibly.
  13. I haven't misunderstood the question at all. He clearly should have been excluded for bringing another rider down. He may have won his last race if he needed to, but we'll never know. It's no good saying "if it was a gp system," the fact is it was a one-off meeting which had an undeserved winner. Of course Ermolenko was a worthy world champion, being one of the worlds best...But that wasn't the question. Anyway, under a gp system Nielsen would most likely have won every year from 83.
  14. Egon Muller was the same. He had a few decent world finals before his win, but didn't do much after.
  15. Sam Ermolenko is an undeserving champion. He should've been excluded for stopping in front of Billy Hamill, causing him to crash. Hans Nielsen should have been the rightful winner.
  16. Well done Matej. Rubbish gp...On the plus side, Doyley extends his lead and Traitor has a bad one.
  17. Did Woffy say "I'm coming through like a steam train, or steam iron?"
  18. It seems the pressures getting to Janowski. Dudek has the better temperament maybe.
