  1. That reminds me of the early Mike Parker days.
  2. He's had years to get a decent average, why did he get dropped and Clegg didn't?
  3. Or any combination that reaches the same (or lower) total?
  4. What I mean is that you don't have to own a club to be named as promoter, the owners might decide to appoint someone as promoter or even have joint promoters. So if for instance BH decided to retire and his shares were bought up, the shareholders would then decide who was to be named as promoter.
  5. It's better than the old 'rider control' where riders were allocated by a governing body. If the guy didn't fancy it he'd probably retire and you would get an allocation from the barrel scrapings.
  6. So what? The directors could appoint anyone with some background knowledge to that.
  7. Actually he is only a minority shareholder, so if he departed it might well not be the end of the road.
  8. So what is the rumoured figure and who are the "Havelocks"? To be honest, a lot of Bears supporters don't want Kus back and even if he does return, it'll still be an uncompetitive side.
  9. The idea used to be to have one senior rider who could give advice, some teams have stocked up with riders who failed as draft riders or who failed in other leagues. It's getting like a cheap PL.
  10. It was good to be able to see it, pity they didn't have more cameras and some commenters who knew what they were watching and how to add up. I only saw the second half of heats and the A and B finals but it all seemed a bit processional to me. Filling in the programme and juggling all the options must have been an anorak's dream.
  11. While I agree with much of what you say, there is a slight irony in the fact that too many NL teams seem to have filled their places with tried and failed NL career riders, who are actually robbing some young hopefuls of a chance of a team place and the required experience.
  12. It's Keskinen but it won't be him anyway.
  13. Then you'd probably be giving places to some who have never shown signs of going beyond that. Obviously the rules will change when the need arrises, much as has happened in the EL.
  14. I disagree about teams looking evenly matched, several look to be merely making up the numbers.
  15. What happens if the front end goes up, are they designed to accommodate that?
  16. I believe 'wet weather' tyres are being trialled, personally I can't see how they'd work as they don't address the problem of spray (neither did dirt deflectors to the extent hoped for). Track surfaces are a possibility but you would need something widely available and affordable. Rain-offs are definitely bad news, especially when people have spent a lot of time and money to get there, only to be told at the last minute.
  17. Probably because it isn't actually an apology but just another excuse to criticise and insult other posters. It would seem that lessons haven't been learned.
