  1. I don't 'hope' that Harris doesn't get a wildcard, the fact is that he wont get one and has already started plans to move in other directions, so I haven't agreed with you. As for Hancock/Doyle, you seem to be governed by wishful thinking, personally I'm not bothered who actually wins the title (it will be Hancock) because I accept that there are risks, confidence swings and various track conditions, it's nothing to do with who ranks top and it never will be, otherwise it would be boringly predictable. I'll let your bottom have the last word, if it must.
  2. He hasn't got a wildcard for 2017 and isn't expecting one. The injury to Doyle was accepted as an accident by far more qualified observers than you or I. Hancock was still in with a chance of being World Champion whether Doyle had or hadn't been injured, you never know how things would have gone.
  3. That's why it's a contest, they take their chance and accept the risks. Hancock's record is second to none. Harris isn't a top competitor but he did qualify and he isn't any where near as dangerous as some others.
  4. No he isn't, all the experts agreed that it wasn't his fault. It was actually Lindgren who lifted. That's what sport is about, it's a contest, not a ranking list.
  5. Probably not, the other consideration is that some riders need to race several times a week to keep themselves at the top of their game.
  6. I agree, we should have gone our own way years ago. The only problem is that it isn't a level playing field, the Poles can pay a lot more and have three GPs and a lot of the other GP tracks are similar to theirs, so anyone who aspires to race at that level has to go with their rules and demands. We could always go back to the days when we had a good number of Aussies and a small number of other nationalities and the 'World Final' was always here, personally I preferred that but maybe a lot wouldn't.
  7. From Belle Vue Twitter.... Belle Vue Speedway ‏@TheAces 7m Manchester, England There's NO live broadcast from Belle Vue v Lakeside tonight! You can catch all the action from Wolves v Poole in the Peter Craven Suite!
  8. And the Polish club replies...You'll get no more, they know he'll stay because they are able to pay far more than all his others put together, why do you think riders miss meetings because their Polish club has ordered them to attend practice? The Poles can do whatever they like, we've seen them flexing their muscles more and more in recent years.
  9. I would prefer to see guests totally banned, teams should have to bring in a NL rider or use r/r.
  10. In that case why have qualifying? There could just be a published list of the worlds top sixteen riders and that's that. personally I'd prefer it if all riders were qualifiers, preferably via a series of rounds, rather than the current system which leads to a one-off.
  11. Irrelevant! He CHOSE to walk away. Being world champion should be the ultimate ambition of every rider, not grabbing the cash in some Mickey Mouse event.
  12. But he DID leave and he should have to re-qualify or stay away.

  14. Why keep moaning about the AGM? The members are the people who own Speedway in this country and some of them have invested huge amounts of money to keep things going. If some of you got half the things you wanted it still wouldn't add significantly to the turnstiles. It would help if there were more 'proper' race tracks like Belle Vue and more tracks that were accessible by public transport, but there aren't and there is unlikely ever going to be, so we're stuck with rubbish like Lakeside, Leicester and Eastbourne (I'm entitled to my opinion) and no amount of tinkering with the averages will make such places worth visiting (again my opinion). Someone mentioned the EDR system, personally I would simplify it by having every EL side have at least one British under 25 rider and every PL team have at least one under 21 British rider, irrespective of whether the rider was heat leader, reserve or second string.
  15. That bloke that pushes it looks like he's suffering from something.
  16. I would think they echo the thoughts of the majority.
  17. I know it's a sh!t track but Swindon have been an embarrassment tonight.
  18. I always thought it was just because he was dominant, like Sprouts Elder had been.
  19. Did Greaves really hurt his hand, or was it one of his tantrums?
  20. That isn't quite true, he called THAT Coventry fan a bellend. With some justification.
